Obamacare Deductibles are going up in 2016 so if you get sick or need special care expect to pay for it.

In 2012-2014 I paid less than $130/month for a policy with a $2500 deductible and copays for office visits and prescriptions. This plan was not ACA compliant so I had to get a new plan for 2015.

I now pay $232/month for a plan with a $5000 deductible and I have to pay out of pocket for everything until the deductible is met. A recent visit to a specialist cost me $190 instead of a $40 copay I paid last year. A prescription I paid less than $10 for last year now costs me slightly over $43.

For me to have comparable coverage to my old plan now would cost me about $400/month.

So Obamacare screwed me. I am paying more for less coverage.

I'm trying to scramble to get knee surgery before the end of the year when my deductible goes back to $5,000. Trying to get in and get the credit for what I've already paid out. Not easy, had to pay for an Xray today that was unneccessary because the insurance had it on their "must do" list before I could get an MRI.
