The trial of the fat lying bastard isn’t being held in appellate court !!

The trial is being held in the Senate not a court room. Documents and witnesses will be voted on by the Senate, not allowed by a judge, and the Senate is on trial by the court of public opinion.

So Im not going to fog my mind with Crowdstrike horse shit being spewed by the trump party or the ramblings about statues.

In its careful wording, this is also true. Zelensky, sitting with Trump in a meeting on Sept. 25, was asked if he felt pressure from Trump in the call. After indicating that he didn’t want to get involved in the politics of the question, he conceded that he hadn’t felt pushed.

That admission, as he obviously understood, was what Trump wanted to hear. Trump quickly jumped on it: “In other words, no pressure,” he said, paraphrasing his counterpart.

David Holmes, a political staffer at the embassy in Ukraine, explained why he felt that Ukraine would not only have felt pressure but also pressure not to concede that they were being pressured. He was speaking about how Ukraine would have tried to navigate the hold on aid, but the point is broader.

Whether the hold, the security assistance hold, continued or not, Ukrainians understood that that’s something the president wanted,

And did they give it "fearing" the repercussions if they didn't? No, they did not and in at least 6 high level meetings after the 25th phone call, no Ukraine official ever mentioned the so called pressure. Never brought it up and certainly didn't comply. But they sure as Hell brought it up when the news story broke in Politico when phone calls were blowing up and e-mails flying asking "what's going on". Funny reaction from people who "knew what Trump meant when he said it", huh?

and they still wanted important things from the president,” Holmes said. “So I think that continues to this day. I think they’re being very careful. They still need us now going forward.”

Purpura suggested that treating Zelensky’s claims with skepticism was akin to reading Zelensky’s mind. Taking the assertions of Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials at immediate face value, though, offers no more assurance of yielding an accurate interpretation.

This conflict gets to the heart of what Trump is alleged to have done. Either the United States has the ability to exert pressure on Ukraine or it doesn’t.

May be the easiest question ever asked, of course we do and Trump did it on at least 5 other occasions with other countries, either holding back aid until they did something we asked for or cancelling aid all together as in the case of the Central American countries over their failure to do what we asked regarding immigration. "It is done all the time, get over it".

So if holding back aid is illegal as Democrats assert, why not make those 5 other occasions part of the Articles of Impeachment

Trump asks that we assume there is no implicit pressure at play and that everything that occurred is no more complicated than the most basic reading of events. That request can be evaluated on its own merits.

Which is exactly what Republican Senators will do.

There's no such thing as "Obstruction of Documents" I have no idea where you heard that crap. Schiff blatantly made up a false narrative in an official forum to insinuate the July 25th Phone call between Trump and Zelenskky was based on a Bribe to dig up dirt on Biden. That's unacceptable and criminal in nature and he should be held accountable for that.

You mean it wasn't proven in the House inquiry but they impeached anyway? See the dilemma? If they didn't have enough evidence in the House, why did they impeach? Why expect the Senate to issue subpoena's when the House wouldn't? And if the House didn't have time to wait, how does the Senate have time to wait?

Don’t bother to reply, I know the answer.

No, apparently you don't have a clue. As attorney Philbin told us, the Judiciary committee did not have the legal authority to ask for those documents and subpoena's by a decision from the OLC at the Department of Justice

The supreme leader says it’s a lie so it’s a lie.

No, his attorney and the OLC said it was a lie and it will be up to a court to decide.

Not to worry, the Russian sympathizers in the trump party will allow him to stay in office. Don’t drop your guard, lots more coming.
So if you don't follow the standard "fire the Ambassador" protocol you should get impeached?

In the lawn chair up by the doors to the fire station while ....

... sucking on a beer. A "round belly" discussion of "law"!!!!!

If Trump can be charged with "obstruction of justice" by exercising his executive "privilege," then every attorney in the United States could be disbarred after having been charged with "obstruction of justice" for exercising the attorney-client privilege.

But "The Captain" wouldn't know that, because .... he gets his law .....

Well I didn’t capitalize the term did I, you chose to do that. Article two of the fat lying bastards impeachment states Obstruction of Congress. I was merely pointing out the obstruction the fat lying bastard was committing in regards to not making government documents available. Now run along and work on your Crowdstrike conspiracy, you trumpsters are losing that lie in the court of public opinion.

Trump isn't the one who is lying, it's the Democrat Morons like Schiff that you keep quoting that are doing the lying. Trump doesn't have the burden of proof, the House does. The Senate only has to evaluate what the house has brought forth. So far the House of Representatives hasn't done shit to prove anything. They know the Senate isn't going to recommend Trump be removed from office. They are just using the Impeachment process to tarnish the 2020 Election.

Shifty is doing a good job of convincing the court of public opinion that witnesses and documents are needed for a fair trial. The dream team has their opportunity this week to convince the Senate to vote for dismissal.
As the self proclaimed stable genius often says “ we’ll see what happens “

You’re god damned right they’re using the impeachment to tarnish the fat lying bastard. Much like the freedom caucus used government agencies to tarnish Obama and Clinton. If Putin’s piss boy can’t handle it...he can resign. And let Pence finish the term.

Schiff had his chance to call as many witnesses and documents he needed during the Houses Impeachment Inquiry. Now it's time for the Senate to evaluate what the House had compiled. The House doesn't get a do over just because they presented a flimsy case.

New York Times: Bolton draft book manuscript says Trump tied Ukraine aid freeze to political investigations

President Donald Trump in August told his then-national security adviser John Bolton that he wanted to continue holding military aid to Ukraine until the country helped with investigations into Democrats -- including former Vice President Joe Biden -- the New York Times reported Sunday, citing multiple people's descriptions of an unpublished draft manuscript by Bolton.

Trump's purported statement, as described by Bolton, would directly tie the US military aid freeze with the President's requests that Ukraine announce investigations into his political rivals -- undermining a key pillar of the President's impeachment defense that the two circumstances are unrelated.

There is no evidence of wrongdoing by either Joe Biden or his son, Hunter Biden, in Ukraine, and Joe Biden has repeatedly defended his son and himself.

Bolton's attorney Charles Cooper submitted a draft manuscript of the forthcoming book to the National Security Council on December 30, 2019, he said in a statement Sunday.

Cooper said he submitted the manuscript on Bolton's behalf despite "our firm belief that the manuscript contained no information that could reasonably be considered classified."

The Parnas recording and now Bolton’s written accusation just over the last three days.

You can bet Shifty Schiff is looking into it...

No one is asking for a do over, they’re only asking for witness testimony from the people who ignored subpoenas and of course documents that are being denied. That will be determined by the US Senate not some long drawn out courtroom case.

Trump denies telling Bolton that Ukraine aid was tied to investigations, as explosive book claiming otherwise leaks

President Trump said early Monday that he “NEVER told John Bolton that aid to Ukraine was tied to investigations into the Bidens or Democrats,” contrary to assertions Bolton reportedly made in the manuscript of his soon-to-be-published book, aptly titled, “The Room Where It Happened.”

The president’s tweet, just after midnight Monday, was his first reaction to a story in the New York Times about the forthcoming book by the president’s former national security adviser.

The book excerpt, and the leak, have the potential to increase pressure on the Senate to call witnesses in the impeachment trial of the president and, beyond that, to challenge the core defense of Trump, his lawyers and his supporters in Congress.

The Times reported late Sunday that, in the manuscript, Bolton writes of Trump telling him in August that “he wanted to continue freezing $391 million in security assistance to Ukraine until officials there helped him with investigations” into Democrats, including former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, who had been employed by a Ukrainian energy company.

It appears someone associated with the NSC is still loyal to their country. The fat lying bastard is most likely interrogating people in the Oval Office searching for the patriots who leaked that manuscript. Lots more coming!

Shifty Schiff has his nose to the ground, he’ll catch those hogs.
