Glad I downloaded it for free, I was bored as hell after the first few rounds. As previously mentioned, Mayweather has an effective strategy no doubt about it but it's boring to watch him dance, hug, and jab all fight long scoring points. Someone earlier made a reference to Olympic Boxing and I agree, it's boring on the same level to me personally. Maybe I'm not enough of a boxing enthusiast to appreciate the artistry involved.
In the UFC Anderson Silva used to get a lot of criticism for doing the MMA equivalent often not engaging much at all during the first round but instead measuring up his opponent, dancing around, and avoiding most strikes/takedowns. At least Silva would often knock the dude out in Round 2 though
He won plenty of fights by decision though just using his quickness and takedown defense combined with halfass jabs and maybe a quick takedown or two just for points.
The problem is that noone wants to see boring headliner fights but all too often that's what ends up happening. I get it, the stakes are higher and the fighters don't want to take risks. But many times the fights leading up to the main event are 10x better for the fans than the headliners are. It's a fundamental problem.
