Drones provide the exact coordinates of the target.

For those of you that don't understand... removing the sights means you have to re-lay the gun in terms of position, azimuth, and elevation. If the gun doesn't know where it is... you can't figure out the firing solution to the target.

I thought that the above might be BS... the sights are hardened devices... but I imagine we and other nations are sending the equivalent of "hangar queens".
