McCain came from a highly decorated Naval family both his grand father and his father were both Naval Admirals. He was a little trophy for the VC that's why he wasn't tortured. His whole political career was based upon him being a POW. What's truly bizarre is He and John Kerry blocked a piece of legislation to locate and bring home several hundred MIA/POW's left in Southeast Asia. During the 2008 election Liberals were bashing McCain calling him a Warmonger among other things. Eight years later along comes Trump and he bashes Trump and Liberals are all now defending McCain and pronouncing him as a national treasure and War Hero, lol.

I would hope so if there is any confirmation of any remaining MIA's over there. I did here something interesting once that there was an effort to retrieve MIA's a few years after one of the Rambo sequels came out, when Rambo rescues MIA's after the government told him there wasn't any remaining MIA's. You might remember that sequel. There is no question Government lies to the public or withholds information we have a right to know. I think that's why Trump is hated, he's calling them out on it.

Why don't you try again? Tell us exactly what he did during his 6 years as a POW to warrant such a label. And while you're at it, tell us how you would have behaved in the same circumstances.

I also would like to know why you considered McCain to have been “yellow,” Dilbert.
Who is your role model for courage and perseverance?

When a man plans his own funeral (that drags on for a week) and wants his casket taken from one capitol rotunda to another, with a two and half hour funeral service ... It tells you everything you need to know about how highly he regarded himself, what a narcissist he was, and what little (if any) humility was a part of his character.

That would dovetail perfectly with the new norms and values in the White House then, right?
I’d happily suffer a week of memorial for Twitler if it happened soon.

+1
Ten months McCain's constituents went without their Constitutionally guaranteed representation in the Senate because that petty, narcissistic SOB wanted to die as a sitting Senator.
And don't forget how much of a hawk he was in wanting to send young men and women into harms way, but then voted against providing veterans' benefits to those same men and women after they had served.
Furthermore, there is the role he played in weaponizing the IRS against conservative groups and weaponizing the FBI against a politocal candidate he did not like.

Did you ever support McCain’s stances on US military intervention, IBH?

But we do need to honor him and the best way

I say rip to Him, but he was no hero or role model!

is to pass a "term limits" bill and call it McCain's Law, he most certainly was the poster child for it.
If President Trump can do it, I say do it and have the last say HMMMM, otherwise, I do believe it would be bipartisan that it would be passed into law, by "we the people", I won't hold my breathe as politicians would never bring it up for a vote.

I never said that he had it easy.
as for that admiral stockton letter, he only saw small part of it.
I'm more inclined to believe the POWs who were there. the interactions with the POW varied where mccain was stationed.
I do believe he cooperated and he was not tortured.
besides, torturing an injured man looks bad.
He did those radio broadcasts and there is an audio of it.
the links provided by Kehaar paints a very different kind of picture of McCain who was the son of an Admiral in command of a the Pacific fleet conducting operations against N. Vietnam.
the kind of illness he had, what kind of hero is he when he remains as senator instead of leaving the seat open for others to take his place. that would have been a magnanimous act.
what kind of hero is when he deliberately kills POW/MIA research funding.
His involvement with the IRS-tea party suppression was shocking. but then I shouldn't been too surprised about that when he went after his enemies in Arizona by staging a coup of the party apparatus the year before his re-election.
He was no hero.
believe who you will.

I’m going to mourn the loss of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip when that time arrives more than this piece of shit, who was at best a below average politician.

Especially when he invited 'opposition' party members (such as Warren, gore, Albright, obama). BUT refused to invite trump or even his former running partner, Palin..

I've long been saying ,we need term limits. NO ONE should serve 30+ years in government.
I say limit it to 2 terms of 4 years in the house, 1 more in the senate.
