I agree, this arming teachers BS is just that. That makes as much sense as arming the kids, why not that too? Because it is a stupid idea. Just as arming teachers is.

If you arm the teachers, you are in effect arming the students. Check the news. Teachers are often physically assaulted and robbed while at school. A diminutive ninety-eight pound English teacher is not a physical match for a 200 lb, 17 year old thug.

Most penitentiaries do not arm the guards who intermingle with the inmate population for essentially the same reason.

So WTF is going to join the stupid crowd. NO ONE is saying to arm teachers, what we are saying it to let teachers arm themselves if they want to. Now we can mandate armed security in the schools but it is about free choice to allow teachers, who pass the training and prerequisite checks, to arms themselves if they desire. Get off the stupid.

You are now associating inmates with students? Do students give themselves tattoos and commit gay gang rapes? Oh look, Cheerleader Suzy got shanked in the locker room. Join the idiots who want to demonize but don't want to solve the problem.

Be sure and have the teachers file the front sight off their handgun so when they take it away and stick it up their ass it won't hurt as bad.

And your solution? Ban guns? You know that will not happen. Hire security guards? How many fat out of shape security guards have you seen. Do you really think they would be better? I have met lots of very capable teachers, Why should they not be allowed to be trained. In many if not all high schools there are ROTC teachers that are trained military personnel.

The only person to respond to one of my posts was biggen and it was pure stupidity.

This country has escaped terrorism aimed at our chidren like Germany, Russia, and Scotland have. What will be blamed if a half dozen terrorist occupy a school with several hundred students and start throwing out bodies every hour like they did in Russia. It is true that an armed teacher is not a subsitute for a trained SEAL but an armed teacher is better than nothing.

I know several teachers who are retired marines. I bet they would be first in line should this be an option.

So I guess an unarmed teacher stands a much better chance. Talk about simple minded idiots. You have joined Wav in that special group.

I understand that that is the law -- today. Perry's statements say he wants CHL holders to have the right to carry anywhere in the state. His words. That means in my house. And if that is what he means, I find it unacceptable.

As an aside, the law DOES allow someone with a CHL to come into my home with a concealed handgun. It is up to ME to tell him he can't, or have a sign stating that he can't. RIDICULOUS. IMHO anyone with a CHL coming into an individual's home with a concealed handgun should be made to alert the homeowner that he is legally carrying a concealed weapon.

You know that there is NO solution to a group of heavily armed terrorists attacking a school. If that happens there are going to be a lot of dead people unless there is a special forces team handy. However, an armed teacher would be a great defense against a lunatic that is just killing people until someone gets in his way and stops him.

Secondly, "good luck" on getting an LE training center and trainers to reach Mary Jane or John Doe on how to engage armed intruders with the knowledge and information available to LE regarding tactics that are utilized by LE ......

I'm not going to say ALL ... because there is always a Mayberry, USA, out there or two, but LE training is for someone with a clean history, stable mind, and willing to dedicate themselves to "policing" their respective community, who can pass a polygraph to confirm "all of the above."

Most of the teachers I've met it would be difficult enough for me to trust them more than 55 minutes in the same room with my kid UNARMED .... and ARMED I would reduce that to 55 seconds ... opinionated, know-it-alls, who couldn't find their ass with both hands if ..... ... I hate to break the "we aren't talking about "arming teachers" bubble ....

.... when someone "allows" teachers to bring weapons to school ,,,,

....."someone" is ARMING TEACHERS.

Let teachers teach and let professionals do the security work.

Not some want-a-be.
