I think it is too early to say what long term impact this will have on rates. It has driven some to the streets and their rates will no doubt go down. For those able to make connections with clients without hitting streets their rates will go up.
As Creed points out the current climate has driven some hobbyists out of the hobby. This could result in rates going down as ladies compete for the remaining clients. Who knows.
If the situation leads to ladies favoring gentlemen who will treat them with respect then I see that as a good thing. Why? Because I cannot compete with other guys on what I spend for dinner etc, but when it comes to respect and how I treat a lady and appreciation otherwise I can compete with anyone? Of course often money trumps respectful and common courtesy. Too many women in hobby and real life will take the guy throwing money around over the guy who treats them well.
May not matter for me because by the time all this is sorted out I will probably be a ghost with different concerns.
