WTF, do you know what you're talking about...never mind you don't. The United States made out like bandits after World War II not because of our military but because the German, French, and Japanese economies were destroyed. The Soviet economy was a victim of communism and the English industrial base was compromised. Our military gave us something visible to be proud of and to save lives but it was our industry. That all changed in the 1970s.

Where in the conservative philosophy have you read that it means we should be all over the world? Conservatives believe in a strong military as a matter of self defense. People like Pat Buchanan, the late William F. Buckley, and even Dick Cheney have written that we were over extended.

Our you now for cutting Defense spending ? I know Pat Buchanan and you're no Pat Buchanan!


The vast industrial military complex has not slowed down. They rest of the world does not spend like we do on their Defense budget. That puts us at a competitive disadvantage in the business world just as our overpriced healthcare system does. The funny thing is is that when Japan and Germany and England and France had the chance to set up a healthcare system, none chose our fuc'd up model. Now they all have lower healthcare costs and do not have to pay for a huge military presence all over the world.
