The vast industrial military complex has not slowed down. They rest of the world does not spend like we do on their Defense budget. That puts us at a competitive disadvantage in the business world just as our overpriced healthcare system does. The funny thing is is that when Japan and Germany and England and France had the chance to set up a healthcare system, none chose our fuc'd up model. Now they all have lower healthcare costs and do not have to pay for a huge military presence all over the world.
