what an idiot you are. the China syndrome was not a government program (Clinton lit the fuse to the housing bubble) it was an external event. that spending wasn't from anything Trump pushed as an agenda.

The China Syndrome??? That was a movie about something that didn't happen.

What does that have to do with the failure of the government to backstop the baby formula manufacturers that the FDA shutdown?

The "Government " shutdown a factory that was producing formula that was killing infants. Which imho the government should do.

Are you now for MORE government intervention into baby formula production? Should that be state run?

Would you buy potentially contaminated baby formula for say your little baby Wacko?

Look dilbert, your first post was spot on. It shows how pure capitalism will consolidate/eliminate all competition. That is what happened in this segment.

So when you have a disruption like a dirty factory, you wind up with shortages.

Now you have posters like Barelycorn unknowingly calling for the government to backstop the production of baby formula! I thought he was a free market freak?

Baby Formula Scammers Sentenced to 18 Years After Milking $100 Million

A trio of South Florida residents were each sentenced to over 18 years in federal prison on Thursday for carrying out an elaborate scheme to defraud manufacturers out of numerous items regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), including baby formula.

Johnny Grobman, Raoul Doekhie and Sherida Nabi were convicted in relation to a years-long fraud scheme that took place from 2013 to 2018, in which they deceived manufacturers into providing significant discounts on formula, eye-care products and other items, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Friday. The scheme ultimately cost companies over $100 million.

Doekhie, 53, and Nabi, 57, are a married couple and worked together to lie to various manufacturers. They falsely claimed to have government procurement contracts and said that they were purchasing products to ship to the South American nation Suriname, according to a release from the DOJ.

There were no such contracts and no relationship to the Suriname government, the DOJ said. Instead, the products they obtained were then given to Grobman, 48, who sold the items across the country. This scheme brought millions of dollars in profits to the trio, which was split amongst themselves, according to the DOJ...

Well... you know... the thing... science... Come on man. So the bacteria that affected 4 total, two of which died was never, not even ever, found in the factory. So while you might 'feel' like the factory was contaminated, that would not be the same as following the science which said it was not.
