I was not referring to China but rather the good, old USA. Prior to the Covid pandemic I don't remember seeing anyone wearing a mask. These days it is rare that I don't see several people a day wearing masks. Not many but more than before. In the gym, in stores, in restaurants, at sporting events.

Before the Pandemic no body wore a mask. Every now and then I still see a few even four years after the Pandemic, that's their business. I personally don't concern my self with covid.

I too do not worry about Covid because I am full vaccinated. And I stopped wearing a mask as soon as the laws allowed. But the advice of medical experts do advise certain individuals to wear a mask. Now I am well over 50 but I have no medical conditions that I believe put me in the high risk category so I will continue to not wear a mask.

When to Consider Wearing a Mask

Protection Against Respiratory Viruses

- Masks lower a person’s exposure to respiratory infections such as COVID19, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and pertussis (whooping cough).

- If you test positive for COVID-19, masking for 10 days is recommended. See COVID-19 isolation guidance for more details.

- If you believe you were exposed and will be in contact with someone who is higher risk, consider wearing a high-quality mask.

- If you are at higher-risk of becoming severely ill, consider wearing a high-quality mask (respirator) when you are in an indoor public setting with poor ventilation, or when you are traveling on public transportation.

- People who are at higher risk for severe respiratory
infections include:

Older adults (aged 50 years and older)

People with certain medical conditions such as a chronic
disease or cancer

People with weakened immune systems

People who are pregnant or were recently pregnant

People with disabilities

People who live in congregate care facilities, such as a
skilled nursing facility

Children under 5, with greatest risk in infants

I am not in any of those categories other than age. If that is even a factor in and of itself. People have to do what makes them feel secure I guess.

Chances of that went from zip to nadda. I may have mentioned I have and more importantly had ported N95 masks before the covid even. Additionally, I have a couple of the fancy doodle jobbies that utilize replaceable cartridges, one of which is a full face shield as well.

I've always used them when doing things such as heavy amount of sanding, spraying a lot of chemicals or paint, cleaning out really dusty/crusty areas, heavy wood chipping - especially cedar and so on.

I just don't find a need for them to merely exist.

Good job SpeedRacer. I got the Pfizer two shot vaccine. I do believe the message in the M-RNA (a specific sequence of amino acids) will keep one safe by helping your system make the antibody to SARS_COV2 virus. If one gets infected with SARS_CoV2 virus.
