There are 2 elements to the Saudi sponsored tour.
One is the competitive element facing the PGA Tour.
The other is Saudi money, and how this is being spun around in the spin cycle.
There are hundreds of golfers who have ground it out for years, trying to make the PGA Tour, and significant money. They get paid nothing by the PGA Tour. Many lose money. They would always like to see more tour chances to play and make money. Of course they will never see the Saudi money.
On the other hand, golfers contribute nothing. They just put a ball in a hole in the ground.
Entertainment. How much entertainment do humans need ?

Exactly. I stick my Putter (with balls attached) in holes, and nobody pays me. In fact, I typically pay several times more to do it once, than I would pay to play 18 holes of Golf.
Just entertainment. Yes. The fact that a competing Tour stocked with blood money could germinate, says a lot that is negative about us.
