The prosecution of women alone was successfully challenged, though as recent as October this year there was a case where a female, Air Force lieutenant is appealing her recent discharge for being an unwed mother.

If they could actually enforce that there would be nearly no soldiers or sailors left. I was in for 18 years and violated that nearly every day for years.

18 years! Well then you should know they CAN enforce it, but CHOOSE not to enforce it except when it's to their convenience to do so. RULE #1: Do not agitate, aggravate or in anyway make a public spectacle of yourself and/or the service, and the service will not persecute or prosecute.
