Well, well. It appears that the investigation into Petraeus was started when a female working close to him got threatening/harassing e-mails from Broadwell. That investigation apparently led to the FBI discovering the affair and finally notifying Director of National Security Clapper late Tuesday afternoon.

This story really makes me laugh. Only in this country of idiots would anyone care about such a thing. Let's list the idiocies.

1.That the FBI should have been investigating a personal relationship of this kind
2.That once it's established that anyone should care
3.That he was screwing another West Point grad who idolized him (ooh so sexy)
4.That any woman wanted him anyway given he's a short, skinny egghead
5.That he's such a wimp he caved immeditately over the whole thing
6.That someone with his supposed intellect should have dedicated his career to an institution which does nothing but invade other people's countries, so he specializes in tactics to passify their resistance.

Maybe he should have done what I did and learned the true history of America's foreign wars, like Vietnam, or maybe read what other Generals like Smedley Butler had to say, but then he would have done what I did and left government work.
