More Gov't unequivocally isnt the answer. I trust my guns more than my gov't, especially this current one...
People have been killing people since the beginning of time and will continue to until the end of time, guns or no guns.
The fact is limiting guns will only stop law abiding citizens from acquiring them; if it were illegal to own or carry a gun, no matter if its a short or long gun, semi or full auto, single shot or 30rd clip, if someone wanted to get one and use it for malice they will find a way to bring it to fruition regardless of gun laws...
...on a grandeur issue, the current Gov't needs to focus their time on bigger issues and stop fucking more shit up more than they need to bitch about gun laws from across the isle. (sitting deadlocked and doing nothing is also considered "fucking more shit up")

Lust4xxxLife,
Way to not actually refute anything I said regarding the framer's intent of the second amendment and go with a Glock against a Blackhawk argument.
Guess if you were at the Alamo or Thermopylae you'd have told everyone "we're fucked, let's go home". You strike me as more of a Vichy government type.
A few parting quotes from ol' Tommy Jefferson: "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."
And one of Jefferson quoting Cesare Beccaria regarding personal defense: "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

I like the last one the best. It shows that these sick fucks don't want to go on a killing spree when they know other are armed too.
I heard a little tid bit today, if somebody can show me where it is wrong please show me. Because I have been trying to find one and I can't.
With just one single exception, which was last year in Tucson, every public shooting since at least 1950 here in America where more than 3 people were killed has taken place where law abiding people are NOT allowed to carry guns. That's why they pick schools and temples and malls that don't allow them. THAT'S 1950 FOLKS. THAT'S AT LEAST 62 YEARS AND ONLY 1 TIME HAS MORE THAN 3 PEOPLE BEEN KILLED IN A PUBLIC SHOOTING!!!!
If I am wrong please show me and I will admit I was wrong. I can only find the one.
Wrap your head around that. Sikh temple, Westroads mall in Omaha, Trolley square mall in Utah, the theater in Colorado, every one banned guns for law abiding people.
I pointed it out before and I will point it out again. There were 8 theatres showing that same batman movie that night within 20 minutes of where that coward lived. 8 of them. Did he go to the closest one? Nope. Did he go to the biggest one where there would be more people to kill and injur? Nope. He went to the only one that banned good guys from carrying guns.
If you want to stop these mass killings you have to let people defend themselves. You can not tie a persons hands behind their backs and expect them to come out alive.

Lust, I just want to tell you, the only reason I have my fortress of armaments is if those little government varmints ever start acting up or suppressing my rights or abusing the constitution me Sarah uncle Jed and my cousin Goober will be opening a can of whip ass they won’t soon forget.
In addition where would one find a more stable and trustworthy group with firearms than a SHMB?

Lust, I'm curious to hear your plan for "gun control", including what you think would happen to the estimated 310 million guns currently circulating in the USA? The other countries have a long history of restrictive gun laws and perhaps actual border security, unlike the USA.
I believe that if we suddenly restricted ownership by law-abiding citizens today the mass of firearms would immediately begin shifting from them toward the "dark side". I have never heard of a reasonable plan to both reduce the overall mass of guns and assure that this doesn't happen.
I eagerly await your plan!

I knew in the wake of Newtown this thread would get hijacked into controlling those evil inanimate objects we call guns.
I do believe that I have a moral obligation to protect my family from the thieves, murderers, terrorists, and crazy people intent on harming them. Schools are "gun free zones". If you are one of the above, why would you go anywhere else to wreak your havoc?
But the most important reason to "keep and bear arms" is that those who govern should fear the governed - not vice versa.
As for me and mine, we will continue to cling to our guns - and, yes, even our religion - in a fervent effort to remain free. Until all you "do-gooders" can assure us with 100% certainty that evil has been eradicated from the world,.... you get the idea!

All of these guns are made to kill a man not for hunting. I am completely creeped the fuck out.
4 mass shootings in Obama's presidency.
Something has got to change.
I don't have the answer, don't even know where to start, but I know that I don't want to ever hear about kindergarten children being executed again in the USA.
Guns are not cool. They are for killing. There is nothing cool about taking a life.

I had to sell most of mine to pay for medical bills a while back, but I've still got my 3 primary handguns.
The first, a Jerico 941 in 9mm (branded as an Magnum Research Baby Eagle). It's a nice all steel handgun based off of the venerable CZ-75. With 115gr ammunition it has the recoil of a pellet gun. It's never had a stoppage, a failure to feed, or any other malfunction of any other kind in over 8 years. It also has the nicest trigger of any firearm I've ever fired. That said, it will put brass DIRECTLY into your shirt if you're not careful.
This used to be my carry weapon, but now I keep it for home defense. Blame the Fort Worth PD.
The second, a Beretta PX4 in 9mm. It's a hair more accurate than the Jericho but also has a touch more recoil. The rotating barrel design is quite nifty, and if I'm willing to tack on another 1/2 inch to use the extended magazines I can carry 22 rounds. The trigger isn't as nice as the Jericho, but it's most definitely usable.
It's a touch fatter than the Jericho, making it more difficult to conceal, but the polymer frame makes it much more comfortable to carry.
The last is a Ruger SR22. I bought it to practice with and to introduce people to firearms. I've put over 1500 rounds through it and it's experienced exactly 3 failures, all with cheap bulk ammunition from Walmart. We were unable to get the specific rounds to fire from any other weapon available, so I'm fairly certain that the weapon was not to blame. Further, the manual of arms is identical to both my Jericho and my Beretta, making it an extremely inexpensive training option.

I don't want to comment on most of the statements made, but one thing I want to make clear is that I don't enter a store, mall, theater etc. that don't allow me to carry my guns legally. I even quit a very well paying job 3.5 years ago when they banned guns in the office for CHL licensed people.
Back to topic....Fav Gun is a second gen Glock 17 and mine has over 100k rounds through(not replaced a part on it, nor has it jammed once) it and has been to an unnamed number of tactical "stock" competitions.
Not gonna shell out propaganda for either way....But if "normal" people don't have access to something you can bet the criminals will have it(read Mexico, our closest neighbor)......
Just a penny or two

I would like to take a moment to applaud you. Holy sweet fuck that was amazing to read. So good to see a woman with her head on straight, instead of whimpering like the typical pussy about how guns kill people.
Blaming guns for events like Newtown (a moment of silence for the memories of the slain) is like blaming forks & spoons for obesity.
I've got one solid fact to remind all of the gun grabber idiot sheep mindlessly amassing for another failed ban run:
The shooter was mentally ill and underage. He did not legally own or acquire a firearm. Hence, restricting firearms for legal ownership isn't going to prevent criminals from getting their hands on them, or doing damage.
Anywoo, I think the thread title is clear. Take the pissmop booing somewhere else. If you don't have guns you wanna post, why click on a thread clearly outlined for that purpose?
