Instead of using slight of hand to brag about how progressive out tax system is yet continually seeing the spread between the wealthy and poor widen. That is not healthy for a semi capitalist society.

I'd have them teach that in school. You know the ole FOLLOW THE MONEY!
You'd use the public schools to indoctrinate the young in socialist and progressive ideology. Interesting. Since you're dead wrong about this, apparently you want sleight of hand to be taught in our educational system.

The OECD's work on the comparative progressivity of tax systems, which I've drawn your attention to repeatedly, includes individual contributions to social security and Medicare. From the economist who did the work:

As others have pointed out this measure includes all direct taxes on individuals so it includes income taxes and employee social security contributions, but not employer payroll taxes. It also doesn’t include sales taxes, but these are much heavier in most other OECD countries, and not as progressive as direct taxes, so if you added indirect taxes in through some sort of modelling it is almost certain that the USA would still have the most progressive overall tax system.

And I've pointed out that so far this progressive tax system you continually carry on about is increasing income inequality. How can that be? I've pointed out that it is because they tax more and SPEND more on their poor

I've even offered one simple fix....take the cap off the employers SS and Medicare limit.

So yes we need to teach our youth the pitfalls of income inequality. You wind of with concentrated wealth. You wind up with too big to fail.....which dilbert pointed out is a major reason for the baby formula shortage.

You get people that should know better arguing on a hooker board convoluting certain aspects of tax policy vs actual results. Ir even making up nonsense about how the estate tax is breaking small ranchers and farmers!

You're the only one who's mentioned ranchers and farmers. You're trying to put words in my mouth. You just offer the same old solution, class and anti-corporation warfare, that progressives use to feed their base. A solution that would make most of us poorer, by taking money away from private sector, the engine for economic growth and jobs, and channeling it to an inefficient federal government.

I've mentioned real solutions, like allocating a larger % of government spending to disadvantaged children, and improving education. But this doesn't overlap with Progressive objectives, like keeping people poor so they'll be more likely to vote for Progressives, and catering to the teachers unions to get their political support.

I seem to remember you crying about the estate tax....I'm too lazy to look it up.

24 million is sheltered, yet you seem to think it unreasonable to tax estates of billionaires who have benefited and influenced the most from a society they shaped where they built up a huge debt.

This Progressive objective is to quit piling up deficits and debt and to have a tax system not built on a House of Cards and Tomfoolery.

I could actually make an argument that I'm more fiscally conserative than you!

I'm socially progressive, not fiscally.

What was it then? I distinctly recall hearing my daughters heart beat via sonogram at 8 weeks. What was I hearing if not the heart? Why did the Doctor say, "That's her heartbeat." ?

I don't care about your opinions on viability. That's not the question under consideration... Unless you link the babies humanity to its ability to live. Do you?

Yes it was your daughter's heart you heard beating. Her brain and Nervous System was also beginning to develop.

The Progressives are as big of contributors as any to our tax system built on Tomfoolery. They favor high headline rates and lots of loopholes for their favored special interests.

The current lifetime gift and estate tax exemption is $12 million per individual, not $24 million. The exemption was only $675,000 in the year 2000. It stayed the same or rose, to $5,490,000 in 2017, before doubling in 2018. Biden wants to knock it back down to $3.5 million. Anything in excess of the exemption is currently taxed at a federal rate of 40%. Some states have additional gift and estate taxes.

Each time a moderately successful business, capitalized in part by debt, was passed to future generations, the estate tax had to be paid.

Again, I never wrote anything about farms or ranches. I did write that many American family-owned businesses have been damaged because of the estate tax. It's the reason we don't have a well-developed, multi-generational Mittelstand like Germany. The Mittelstand, privately run family businesses, account for 52% of Germany's economic output and employ 15 million Germans:

Are you more conservative than I am? You're anti-Libertarian and don't believe in classical liberalism, vis-a-vis economic issues. You do however have good instincts on social issues.

I no longer believe you're a three-quarters Libertarian. You're a 50% Libertarian.

There's another name for 50% Libertarians. Democrats.

Yes, the OP is a notorious self-admitted racist. That's why he's always getting banned.

He's also a Margaret Sanger eugenicist. That goes hand in glove with his being a racist.

You think it is a morally defensible or humane position to kill late-term babies?

71% of Americans find you morally repugnant.

"The poll also found overwhelming opposition to later-term abortions. By a nearly three-to-one margin — 71 percent to 25 percent — respondents said abortion generally should be illegal during the third trimester of pregnancy."

Still looking for that "sweet spot" to maximize inequality by advocating even more steeply progressive taxation?

Attaboy! Thanks for making my point!

Why did it take you so long?

What bona fides? He's about as much of a libertarian as I am an NFL first-draft pick.
