Mushroom Tips?
If I'm the only one laughing then I do apologize for the outburst and will return to stealth mode.

Lol! I was wondering why it was taking so long for someone to take advantage of that set-up.

Mushroom Tips
I figured someone would have thrown it in somewhere within the 4 or 5 pages of replies.
Since it hadn't already been used I was wondering if there was going to be any kind of future in Stand-Up Comedy for me.. .

Somebody mentioned putting only tip in on the first page. Mushroom tip always makes me think of Sublime.

And seriously what guy wants to see someone they know has been fucked that many times?

There is a stark difference between "service level" and "scheduling priority."
My service level remains consistently high, regardless of tips, no tips, specials, no specials, known client or new friend... As evidenced by my 254 amazing reviews. (<--plug, click here )
There is a very good reason why I've been at the top for 6 years running.
Now – when I receive an overwhelming number of requests, which is often the case (go figure), I priorotize requests from repeat clients, clients that are easy to screen (p411 or with refs whom I know personally), or those that tip well. It's called good business.
I'm sure that many of you are in some type of business ––
When given a choice between an engagement that pays more, or pays less... Which one do you choose?
|
Pays more or pays less? Considering IOU's (and that does not stand for I owe You either) will not be tipping it is the same across the board with me. They either pay the hourly rate or not. In 10 plus years of doing this I have never seen an invoice with a payment attached and a little more added on because they like the work ect. But then again they do have investors to answer to. And sure a job in California may be a __ million dollar gig for 3 months but one in Mississippi may be _ million for a weeks work. Do I take either lightly? No. Repetitive business is the nature of the beast after all. Just because one short job pays much less does not mean it is taken lightly. That could manifest itself into a much larger contract.

I'm just waiting for someone to sit around waiting for the guy that tipped once to call and when he does they cancel the set-in-stone date for Mr. Tipper. Then he doesn't tip this time and the date is not so great. Then what?
Not saying don't take that chance to give Mr. Tipper priority, but what about the other guy? Maybe he was planning to tip today. Maybe he got you a tree. Maybe it would have been the best date (so far).

Do Providers ever turn things up a notch or two when seeing a repeat Client that has always tipped on previous engagements? Say, 20% every time.
My guess is that a good Provider will give a 100% every time they see a repeat Client regardless of whether they tip or not. But, is 110% even a reality, and if so, is it ever given only because the Client has always tipped?
All answers should be in 10,000 words or less please.

I would think that a regular client would be appreciated as a steady source of income even if he didn't tip.

Repeat clients no matter if they tip or not gets extra attention because we have that chemistry. And I get a little freaky if I know all about what you love.

Of course those who tip will get preference. Simple economics. You get what you pay for. In a business it makes perfect sense.
What's funny though is how ladies who defend preferential treatment for tippers will turn around and disparage hagglers. It's the same concept from the other perspective. Tip the provider, get payback in preferential treatment later. Deal with the haggler, get increased business later.
