Never! But I don't talk about my personal life much anyway. Nothing about marital problems (back in the day), girl friend problems, etc. It would be very much out of character for me to talk about that sort of stuff.

I did in the early years because I was naive and thought it was cool and interesting. At that time so did they.
Some of those same friends still ask me about it and I tell them that I don't mess with it anymore. I do that for a number of reasons.
1- They want to hear all the details so that they can live vicariously through me
2- They may talk to other people about my lifestyle, which could never benefit me and may come back to haunt me
3- They will want me to set them up with someone and vouch for them which now makes me an accomplice to their actions. I did once and it was a comedy of errors and disaster.
I'm not married, by choice, so I am fully responsible for the outcome of my own decisions and actions. In other words, it is far less complicated if no one else knows.

Yep - me too. I totally trust my personal real world and hobby life with my distaff colleagues. Who would they ever tell? Why would they ever use that against me? This is love and romance after all.
Seriously, I don't share my hobby life with anyone - not even my wife - who knows I hobby - but even she said "I don't want the details". There is no upside to talking about fight club.

missed out on fun while out of town
No, would never tell a soul.
Its a little funny, me a co-worker where out of town working, due to how cheap my company is we had to share a rm, anyways we were down a the bar after work and had a few cold beers, when we decide to call it a night we went up to our rm, we had order pizza earlier and munched out, i went out to the hall way and to put the boxes in the trash, dam small trash cans in rms, and overheard a girl giving her rates in the hall, i looked up and checked her out, but she waved at this guy down the hall, so i was like dam. must been a lost patron. Went back to my rm and thought about her for the rest of the week. Had i had that rm to my self i would had looked into visiting the lady. It was just to close for comfort, trying to explain why i was gone for an hour, Did not even tell him hey theirs working girls on this floor.

It's reassuring to read all of these great responses that guys don't discuss it.
I just wonder about someone with a connection to your civilian life ACTING differently which tips his cards.
He might accidentally call you "Samantha".
If your connection is your kids play in the same soccer league for example, and he approaches you out of earshot (so he thinks) says something like "you were amazing yesterday" or "can we get together next week?" Maybe he really is out of earshot, but the way your two faces look while talking can give a lot away.
Or if the connection is you both work at the same company and he stands too close to you, is overly familiar, or not as deferential as he was before the encounter, that's going to be noticed.
There's a lot of information communicated in body language, facial expression, and tone of voice.
Everyone has experienced that feeling of just *KNOWING* that something is going on between two people, even if we haven't analyzed all of the little clues we picked up on.

I'm discussing the hobby with a civie friend when Hell Freezes Over......and I don't mean The Eagles triumphant return to the stage and studio years ago.
It simply:
ISN'T. GOING. TO. HAPPEN.
But, GawdAwmighty, this has been an entertaining thread.....Prolongus, that was classic, brutha! Q&A time from the pulpit.....outstanding!
