I'll tell you what I remember from the movies that came out in my formative years. (Christopher Reeve will always be Superman to me.)

I remember him throwing a football for who-the-fuck-knows how long. As a high schooler. A teen.

The comics and the movies are most certainly to be taken on their own. I can appreciate a loyal comic book hound. I'm going off of what I know.

Anyway. The man being gay is not necessarily catering to this new era, but I should think character development. It would be up to someone such as yourself to hold them true to the story line.

I'll tell you this; I would like to see the next movie where the undercurrent of him being a homo is a subplot. Just a subplot. Not the driving force of his whole being. Sir.

Being that a comic book (Superman, Supergirl) are written by an individual author, who is beholden to no one, I highly doubt that political correctness has anything to do with the storyline.

Just my opinion...
