The same may be said about the overused
"+1" (Great, we now know someone agrees) or
"Check your PMs" (we all NEED to know that someone PMd another). They are equally "
useless," if the definition is, as you state:

Are all of those posts to be deleted and discouraged too?
As to shit stirring, I am in agreement with you. No place for those whose sole purpose is doing so.
I welcome you as a moderator and appreciate your service. I am confident you will put your stated personal dislike for some posters aside, and "moderate" fairly and impartially.
