One more group he wants shot
“During a rally in Pennsylvania earlier, Trump said:
‘I have this glass here. But all we have really over here is the fake news. And to get me, somebody would have to shoot through the fake news, and I don’t mind that so much.’”
Of course ‘fake news’ means anyone who calls him on his lies, which has to be utterly exhausting.
Oh yeah, and his campaign spun it: [What he said had] “nothing to do with the Media being harmed”.
“[Former] President Trump was brilliantly talking about the two assassination attempts on his own life,” said Steven Cheung, Trump’s campaign communications director.
“President Trump was stating that the Media was in danger, in that they were protecting him and, therefore, were in great danger themselves, and should have had a glass protective shield, also,” Cheung said.
Yeah, that’s in there. Sure.
Cleaning up the orange turd messes has to be equally exhausting.

This coming from a person whose first reaction to Trump being shot at was: I can’t believe they missed!

here's some interesting comments by Bill and his guest ... Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD)
Bill Maher torched critics accusing former President Donald Trump of calling for a “firing squad” for Liz Cheney, telling the media that “you don’t have to move me to not like Donald Trump more than I already do.”
On Friday’s Real Time, Maher took a rare moment to defend Trump against the “lie” that he called for Cheney to be executed. Trump has explained since facing blowback from critics that he was making a point about Cheney being a “war hawk” while he was speaking with Tucker Carlson this week.
Democrats like James Carville have accused Trump of calling for Cheney, a vocal critic of Trump’s, to be assassinated, but Maher joined others in defending Trump, saying the former president was making a point that was once made by “hippies.” The comedian accused the media of lying about Trump’s comments, something he argued is counterproductive.
https://www.mediaite.com/politics/ja...fcking-stupid/
In a Friday video for Politicon, Carville dismissed this context and accused Trump of calling for Cheney to be shot. Too many in the media, he added, are twisting themselves into pretzels to be “fair” to Trump when he’s an existential threat. That threat, Carville argued, should overshadow any debates about policy.
now more from Maher ... and Raskin.
“I woke up today to the headline that Trump had called for a firing squad for Liz Cheney. And this is what I really don’t like about the media. No, he didn’t. You don’t have to move me to not like Donald Trump more than I already do,” Maher said.
he said. “ Don’t lie to me and tell me he wants her in front of a firing squad.
Raskin agreed with Maher on some distorting Trump’s actual statement.
“I agree with you on the lying. That is ridiculous and absurd and counterproductive, but when did Donald Trump ever criticize a war hawk the way a hippie did? Was it during Vietnam? He got out of going to Vietnam, but he didn’t criticize that war or the Iraq war,” Raskin said.
amusing that some think that MSNBC, Lawrence O'Donnell, James Carville, Bill Maher and .. wait for it .. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) are "left wing nutjobs"
bahahahahaa

Yeah, there are a lot of Democratic politicians who would like to shut him up from time to time, even though he's on their side. The "ends justify the means" partisan politics practiced by people like Carville are tearing this country apart.
Good post.

In this universe, we do not give our firing squad "targets" the ability to shoot back. In the words of G.H.W. Bush: " wouldn't be prudent". We might give them a blind fold and a smoke perhaps, but not a loaded rifle.
Is that actually difficult to understand?!? No self righteousness awareness or what? Kinda speaks not only to the war mongers' "hands off", aka at a safe distance reality, but also reminds me of Walz's training with "weapons of war", but when time to go to war - crickets...

I would use your list, more accurately, thusly:
Herein lies a brief list of neo-cons, warmongers and MIC profiteers: George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Mike Pence. Then add in Bolton, Coats, Esper, Mattis, Kelly, Romney, Murkowski, Collins. The list goes on and on...
Honestly... I might be temped to go back in forum time to find all the glowing praise that the left had been heaping on the people of said list going back a decade or two. I suspect I could squeeze it all right here > <.
If I might ask a question of my own:
How many individuals who worked in the Biden/Harris administration, or Democrats in general, were fired?

This guy gets it:

Young Muslim Leader Endorses Trump as ‘Candidate of Peace’ over Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney’s ‘Endless Baseless Wars’
A young Muslim leader endorsed former President Donald Trump as the “candidate of peace” over Vice President Kamala Harris and former Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-WY) “endless baseless wars.”
In a video posted to X by Collin Rugg, Karim Elsammak, who ran as a Republican candidate for the New York State Senate in 2022, spoke about how Trump stands for “peace,” while Harris stands with people such as Cheney, who “represent war and destruction.”
“As an Arab American, I believe that Donald Trump is the candidate of peace, the choice for all Muslim and Arab American voters in Michigan and beyond,” Elsammak said in his video. “In contrast, Kamala Harris stands with those who represent war and destruction. Her top military advisor is Liz Cheney, and she openly praises her father, Dick Cheney, a warmongerer who has supported war and turmoil in the Middle East for years.”
“These are people that have no problem sending your sons and daughters to fight endless, baseless wars with no end in sight, and we must not let it happen,” Elsammak continued. “It’s time to choose peace, it’s time to vote Trump.”...
