Like I replied to gfejunkie, it all depends on the game. Some teams do not, and have never, drawn well. Yes, viewership of NFL games has gone down, but viewership was down from 2015 to 2016 before Trump made his comments -- much more than from 2016 to 2017. Explain that. All TV viewership is off in the last few years. Viewership of NFL games has declined no more than viewership of all programming.

Political addicted people will take any available data and carefully select only the parts they like because those parts support their political dogma.

In this case, the fact that attendance was headed down and viewership was headed down prior to any kneeling does not fit their desired message so it must be irrelevant. They will still believe that what happened second caused what happened first.

Sometimes it seems political zealotry is worse for cognitive thinking than Alzheimers.

I am not going to argue something I can see with my own eyes. It's undeniable and I am not alone. This is the first season where I pay more attention to the stands than I do to the game itself!

There are none so blind as those who will not see...

This is more the norm for any random game available to watch. Sunday, Monday, Thursday. Makes no difference. The no-shows are mounting every week!

Nobody gives a shit anymore!! I know I don't.

As the guy said "Early in the 4th quarter of a blow out". Recently you showed a picture of an "empty" NY Giants stadium. 4th quarter and the Giants trailing 52-13. The game in the video was the Dolphins-Ravens game played in Baltimore. Official attendance 70,408, 99% of capacity. These figures are tickets sold so if someone had a ticket and did not attend the game, he would be counted as attending. Baltimore wins 40-0. Would you still be at the game at the end? Night game. Work tomorrow.

The one thing you said that is true -- "Nobody gives a shit anymore." The fans don't care about whether or not one or two guys are kneeling during the playing of the national anthem. They are going to the game.

i just found this article showing attendance is up in 2017 over 2016, with a few rather large "BUTS".
http://www.businessinsider.com/nfl-a...ts-yet-2017-11

As the article says, we really won't know the impact of the protests until we see what happens to season ticket sales for next year.

The first truthful thing you've said. Don't care about their cause either.

Shit! You wouldn't even believe me if I said the Cowboys are fucked without Elliot... They are.

You and I may disagree on the affect of NFL protesters, but please do NOT imply that I've lied by saying "The first truthful thing you've said".

Just got my latest issue of TV Guide.America's Most Watched shows for the week of Nov. 20-26:

#1 Sunday Night Football
#2 Thursday Night Football
#7 Monday Night Football
#10 Football Night in America

Have to agree that NFL games are taking a beating in the ratings (sarcasm). Only 4 of the top 10 prime time shows.

BTW -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell just signed a 5-year contract extension worth about $40 million a year. I guess that the owners think he is a positive force in that position. And he has continuously supported the protesters.

The trend is more important than just one week of ratings compared to other programming.

And if the same analysis was done form 2015-2016 you would see a greater drop off in viewership than from 2016-2017. Before all the kneeling controversy.

And the drop in ratings for the NFL is irrelevant when you look at those numbers alone. Ratings for ALL TV shows are down over the last 2 years. Like I said, the NFL ratings were #1, #2, #7, and #10 for late November. 4 shows, all in the top 10 shows watched. I've been watching weekly ratings all season and every week the NFL games are in the top 10 prime time shows watched.

Default "Casting calls?!?!"

Now they even have to put out "casting calls" for "fans". Even bribing them with free tickets can't fill up a stadium.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.3bb57caceaac

I saw this one on TV. Still way too many empty seats. I saw the pre-game show too. The casting call failed... Miserably. It's like they threw a party and nobody showed. It was pretty pathetic...

A friend of mine on FB asked for a simple pole. Since the NFL protest and Trump calling for a boycott, what are your viewing habits on the NFL. Total boycott? Cut down viewing? No change. Out of 64 replies there were only 11 no change. There were 29 total boycott, and 24 cut way down. Most saying they watch the Cowboys or Steelers or whoever their team is and that’s all. Screw the other games. You libs just don’t want to believe it.
