Let me clarify, you can operate on heel spurs but doctors recommend against it because the results would likely be worse than the original condition.
What are you saying about the army? You saying something bad about soldiers?

I have had bone spurs in my heels since my early teen years. Like you say, when they flare up they are VERY painful. And it is true that although there is an operation to remove them, doctors advise against it. BUT. I can only speak for myself but I have had maybe 5 flare ups in my lifetime and they last maybe a week. Most people, myself included, can cure the pain from bone spurs by wearing orthotics.
Trump received a 1Y status after his college deferments ran out based on a letter from a doctor who just happened to be a friend of the Trump family. When the draft lottery went into affect and Trump received a 356 out of 365, he was virtually assured he would not be drafted.
I can't speak for Trump. I had bone spurs and served. Maybe his were more severe than mine. He competed in sports in HS with no problem. He had an army physical prior to being classified 1Y and passed. I stand by my earlier statement -- Trump did everything within his power to not serve in the military.
FWIW, this was an unusual modus operandi for people with money.

Waco Kid, Trump’s tariffs on steel, aluminum and washing machines were not targeting China. Trump’s proposed auto tariffs would not target China. Is Trump’s goal to protect intellectual property and enable US companies to compete fairly with and in China? Or does he just love tariffs?

Did Trump impose his tariffs on Mexico? No, because he achieved his desired results from them. He’s employing the same strategy with China. It’s not very complicated. Before you call Trump clueless about tariffs, look in the mirror first.

Tiny is correct. Steve Hanke is an expert on halting hyper-inflation and stabilizing out-of-control currencies. Just ask tatas the bulgarian who used to stalk our Pittsburgh forums!
Oh wait... we can't ask that guy because he got a perma-ban!
Oh well, I dug up a couple of old posts anyway...

Asian countries tend to have very high savings rates. The reasons are partly cultural and partly due to a lack of social safety nets (e.g. social security, medicare, etc.) The US savings rate is very low. We are a nation of consumers, and we're not shy about going into debt to maintain a high level of consumption.
Tiny's point is that a tariff war - even if it succeeds in eliminating many of those "unfair trade practices" - is unlikely to produce a significant or lasting improvement in our trade imbalance unless the Chinese change their underlying habits so they consume more and save less. Alternatively, we could consume less and save more, but that would mean slower US growth at a time when the world is looking to us to maintain the global economic expansion.

But your Professors never said "when", did they? The monetary equation (MV=PT) is still valid. Inflation has just been postponed by a steep decline in the velocity of money.

Opinion: No, Trump’s tariffs aren’t really going to wreck the economy
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/st...ffs-2019-06-06
Reports of Mexico and China trade wars causing Americans financial pain are greatly exaggerated
Actually, if Uncle Sam levies $19 billion in extra taxes on imports from Mexico, then he has extra money that he can recycle back into the U.S. economy through spending, or tax cuts. How much? Try $19 billion.

Ok, first, if you're calling me Arya Stark, I love that! I miss GoT so much and she was a badass. But I suspect it was supposed to be "are you gonna go door to door, etc.
AND love muffin, the RACE I'm referring to is the 2024 Presidential campaign. We all know the incumbent usually wins, so she's wisely waiting 4 more years. Didn't you see that, when I wrote 2024? huh. ok then.
And my man is a Proud Republican. I'm a Prouder Democrat. We have wonderful political discussions in bed, naked. Then we laugh and make up alllll night...
