Most of the point infractions I have received in the past (and probably also in the future as well) were not due to posted guideline violations, but every so often, I would get the thread hijack points so as to quickly up my point total for my 90 day vacations.

What I find amusing about the infractions/violations is that they are mod interpreted. If there was a mod just looking to point someone, they could because ANY post can be twisted into a violation of the guidelines, directly or indirectly. By the same token, a member who, per the GL, is blatantly violating it, and yes, it can be outing/connecting guested handles/ect., more than likely gets a slap on the wrist, a mod sending a PM stating it is a violation so please cool it or most of the time nothing at all. After all, there is a reason why the staff will not tell you if your RTM did any good or not and it is not because it is none of your business, it is mainly because of the interpretation and who it is violating the guideline.

So, if you have staff member or even just regular member(s) of the board who have a hard on for you and RTMs every post you make (because they follow your posts, yet another blatant GL violation that will usually go un-acted upon), you will find that the point bans and pages of infractions will be your norm on your profile.
