It is also a statement made by someone I trust. Could be right, could be wrong.

As for Manchin -- he is in a tough position. A Democrat running for office in a heavily Republican state. I thought his comments on BBB were right on -- it was too expensive.

Thing is, it doesn't make sense. Can't remember Manchin EVER suggesting that this bill would reduce inflation. I would go so far as to say Manchin knew it wouldn't do that but he thought it had some other good things and a promise from Schumer to support a pipeline in West Virginia sealed the deal for Manchin like every savvy politician makes. Hell, even Sinema cut a deal. They all do it.

But poor Joe got fucked and is now respected by nobody and just might have to pay a price next time up for re-election.

Proof? Links?

I did see where they called Abbott’s claims mostly false and Beto’s mostly true.

Please back up your hysterical claims with some facts or at least some documentation.

"Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) announced he has reached an agreement with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to vote on the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 will address record inflation by paying down our national debt, lowering energy costs and lowering healthcare costs."

It depends who Biden would face in 2024 if he decides to run, which I hope he does not. If Trump, I would hammer into the voters minds 24x7 how his actions since the election have been beyond deplorable. Trump;s approval rating is in the mid-30s and Biden's is in the mid-40s (42.6%).

Doesn't mean it was Manchin's idea to name it that which is what I was questioning.

IF you want to believe Manchin did not insist on calling it the Inflation Reduction Act that is fine by me. It is something I heard from a rather astute friend and is totally unsubstantiated as far as I can tell.

The Inflation Reduction Act was negotiated between Schumer and Manchin. They are the co-sponsors. So one of those two came up with the descriptive and naming convention. It doesn’t say which of the two of them but it was initially announce and Manchin referred to it by that name.

Google it. And tell your bellicose sideman to do the same. PolitiFact Texas, four days ago.

There are numerous fact checks of that debate. Abbott took far more liberties with reality than did Beto.

First, the majority of voters want neither Trump nor Biden to run in 2024. I am with them. Second, at this point in time, 25 months before the next presidential election, Trump is a slight favorite to win. As I said, should Trump run whoever is his opponent is should pound into the minds of voters the crap Trump has pulled since the 2020 election. Trump will always have his base. He won in 2016 because many independent voters chose him over a very unlikeable candidate and he lost in 2020 because many of those independent voters who supported him in 2016 abandoned him. Simple as that.

He thinks it's happening in less than 12.

That quote isn’t Manchin’s.
