It's the nature of the popup's that make these troublesome. You can't just close the screen, at least I can't unless I click through two more popup's first. This is a common technique to infect PC's with spyware.

What bothers me is when I get the "are you sure you want to navigate away from this page" Not good when I am trying to have some discretion.

Since St. Christopher has responded to other threads in this section, I sent him a pm asking him if he could respond to member concerns on this topic as well. We'll see if he responds.

I am running explorer. I have noticed that when I first go to ECCIE, first time of the day, as soon as I click on the screen, anywhere at all, a window pops open for some sex ad. I typically close it before it ever finishes opening, and I have no more issues until I log out, clear all of the cookies, etc., and then go back to the ECCIE page.

Slight nuisance for me, not as bad as most of you are complaining about, and I don't have to confirm anything, I can just close the window.

I removed and reloaded Mozilla Firefox on my PC AND verified all of my pop-up blocking and other Ad-Aware type of protections were on and up-to-date. After doing that, I can report no change. I still get pop-ups here and only here. They aren't happening at every click - sometimes it's once a session and sometimes a few times a session.

Same issue as Adonis here. Installed Adblocker plus for FF and still getting popups. Not the kind of popup I'm looking for on Eccie.

FWIW this came from the San Antonio Forum and is an admission that ownership is allowing this to happen.

So they state that this is an advertising campaign. Most companies allow you to "opt-out" of ad campaigns.

Can we get an "opt-out" setting?

Heh! We can't even get an Admin. to answer a simple question and you're wanting an "opt out"?

That's fucking funny!

Right after you start paying for your membership.

OK, I understand now....

The server improvements have been made to insure that every one of those sideboard ads I close will generate a freaking "Slixa" popup!

Thanks a lot for this fantastic improvement,

NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
