Yes, the Republican Party today is a fucked-up, dysfunctional mess that can't get its act together and hasn't offered a responsible, sustainable governing vision. I, for one, will not support any of its candidates unless it undergoes substantial reformation. As bad as Obama obviously is, I am not at all unhappy that Romney lost. He was just another political opportunist who wouldn't have fixed anything.

But Democrats have not offered a responsible, sustainable governing agenda, either, and haven't even remotely attempted to address any of our most critical economic challenges.

Ted Rall, by the way, is on the far left of the ideological spectrum. But he recognizes failures and phonies when he sees them:
