You see, there are many facets of this argument.
Many parents are hesitant to speak to their children about sex because it makes them uncomfortable. In that situation, where are they supposed to learn about it?

Thats a personal choice that they make. Its their perogative to teach them what they believe. Schools, & government by extension, have no right or business, teaching any kind of morality. Its the personal resposibility of parents to raise their children & in a free society we're free to be as ignorant as we choose to be.

His comment is right on topic. If parents teach their kids that their dick will fall off if they have sex before marriage, so be it. Its none of my business & certainly is none of the schools or governments business.
I'm curious, do you have children? Have you had to answer questions from your 12 year old about Larry & his husband or have to explain what the book "My Two Moms" is all about? That book isn't on any of my book shelves.

Some of the views I have read here today I have found very depressing.
I wondered for a few moments if the blatant bigotry, rampant ignorance and the hypocrisy of a few posters had to be unintentional. I have come to the conclusion that their remarks were not made without the knowledge of how offensive those remarks are. I believe that indeed the individuals who made them are proud of it.
I am saddened by the lack of intelligent argument. I am repulsed by the bigotry. I am left in dismay by the hypocrisy.
I weep bitter tears for the future of our fair nation. May God help you, for you will need it.

Bart my good friend, these gentlement are from Texas, you remember Texas, thats the state where they drag black men behind their pickup's tied to the bumper until their dead. You know their motto, "dont mess with Texas, especially if your skin is brown and your intown after dark". This is how they were raised and they really dont know any different. Bubba Joe Bob and Billy Bubba Joe Bob Willy boy dont know just how ignorent they sound.

I fail to see where anyone stated anything resembling bigotry. The closest remark was Toto. KC schools are no better, and in many cases, substantially worse than many schools. KCMO's schools were decertified by the state. That is a well run education system. Kansas has gone back to the flat earth theory.
I agree that the parents are, and should, teach their children about sex and morality. But the fact is they are not. What is even scarier is that these same parents are home schooling their children. Sex education is not teaching abstinence.
If the parents fail to teach the fruit of their loins ...
