Of course not. He was one of a few that helped create the conditions for folks and pigeons to get caught up in the moment of a perfect storm. Point is he should have been sentenced to 6 months to 27 months and served 90 days to 13+ months if he got off early for good behavior. Causing an erection has consequences - and we got screwed because of Epps, the blue bullhorn guy, the ones waving folks inside the Capitol, pelosi refusal to have national guard, I could go on and on.

Again, a few hundred deserved their sentences but some of those did not get to arraignment or released on bond due to being held on conspiracy charges. That normally would end in case dismissed or time served. The Washington Post has photos showing smoke bombs before only a few folks were close to the CB. Were they practicing prior to the main event?

And the DC prosecutor now saying they’re going after everyone that crossed the imaginary red line around the Capitol grounds. They will keep this going until November!

It is my uninformed thinking that similar behavior on the part of someone who didn't actually commit a felonious act would be considered prosecutable as an "accessory" to that crime. The getaway driver for instance or the guy who planned a heist. . . .other tangent relationships would be someone who knows a crime will be committed but does not inform authoritie4s.

Telling someone how, when and where to commit a treasonous act falls into the area of conspiracy to overthrow the government. Others were charged convicted and imprisoned for that.

+1 Salty - spot on. Motivational speaker Epps was not the single cause. But definitely deserved at least 2 months in jail (and really to be consistent with other sentences and my earlier post, at least 6) like the 69 year old lady they sentenced about a year ago.

... The FBI was already onto Ray Epps BEFORE he "called them"...
The FBI knew Epps was there...
"Informant" Epps was doing exactly what he was supposed to do.

Which is why the FBI had NO PLANS to charge Epps with anything.
Until the public outrage at everyone else within a cm of
the Capitol grounds being charged.

So thus the softie "No jail - pay a small fine" for Epps.
