What the US should be doing about the current situation in Ukraine is a logically independent question. Is it in the best interests of the United States to send continued military aid to Ukraine? Would it be in our best interest to intervene militarily under the right set of circumstances? Would it be in our best interest to pull out entirely and let the Ukrainians and Russians fight it out?
Those are legitimate questions and poisoning the well by arguing that anyone not supporting wither continued aid or more direct intervention is “supporting genocide” is counterproductive. We can condemn genocide, but realize that we cannot really do anything effective to stop it, or we can only stop it at an enormous cost to ourselves, a cost that we might be unwilling to pay.

Lets remember that during the Obama years or even the Carter and Reagan years, giving military aid vs. civilian aid was considered taboo by both sides.
The world has changed in so many short years.
Dictators have grown, and become agressive beyond what was thought possible. NATO doesn't mean shit. A member of a club that only takes from others, vs. stands besides the strong & the weak. It's now unfolding to military uses just like in nicaragua, and other places where it was only covered by print news, and then by uncovering Olly North etc. during hearings.
The atrocities that are happening are doing so because of a void of anyone standing up to the bullies or having real accountability. We still aren't holding people accountable. If we had loaned a few A10's over to Ukraine or close by, there wouldn't be shit happening there. Alas, Ukraine, not a NATO member has been a target of extortion from the past, and perhaps even the current administrations.
It's sickening to see the innocent people of that country being killed by fellow russians. Lets not forget that some of these people are related by name, or birth, to those who are killing them. It's almost an un-civil, civil war. As if the north and the south of our country decided to pick up arms because the leader of one group thought they could get away with it.
You don't have to support Nazi ideology of state supremacy to be the highest value, to know that what is happening there is just fucking wrong.
But why paint each other as supporters of the mass murdering that's happening there as being partisan? It's not. It's just acknowledging that the deaths that are happening, could grow to other countries when mad-men are allowed to get away with doing that.
WHat's next, China with Taiwan?
South Korea and North Korea?
Iran and the Saudi's or the middle east?
Despots are gonna despot, and the lessons not learned by the USA in WWII are sitting right at the door-step. Acting like you are and objective observer is exactly how the US was neutral before; and it didn't end well for a LOT of people. How far away are we from the next big conflict?
Sure feels like it's close by doesn't it?
Oh- and I'm not an advocate of WAR, but what are the alternatives to those countries who will oppress their neighbors or neighbors? Genocide of the same people who share last names, and bloodlines, but yet will pick country over everything? Holy shit, that sure sounds like Nazi-ism.
Were not the police of the world, but we sure can stop adding to the corruption of those countries.

Sending American close air support into that mess would be a huge mistake, imo.

I'm not saying with our pilots. BUT, spray the ukraine flag on em, and load up with their pilots who "could" fly them. I hear they are a completely different animal to fly than things like F16's etc. But I defer to those who know more. I'd say let them fly em, we just send them over, like we did Javelins. Up to them to get the bugs worked out. I'd love to see some footage of the aftermath of the Tank and artillery battalions that met up with that fucking thing....BRRRRRRRRRT. No need to even send it a dude to count the bodies. There's just parts. I'd think you'd get a better count using legs and arms.

Do you realize while you say one thing, you are advocating the opposite.
In this case you are advocating for WW III over a corrupt country

i don't deal in absolutes. the OP apparently does since he contends "anyone" who doesn't back Ukraine is "guilty" of supporting genocide.
