Wrong again. Ford did not negotiate, Congress overrode his veto. Carter's was mediation between the two dem-controlled houses passing different versions of bills and had nothing to do with a difference between Congress and the White House. Congress attempted to override Bush's veto but failed, then passing a CR with a deficit reduction package. Only Reagan and Clinton actually negotiated.

Texas’s primaries are somewhat unique. They allow any resident to pick up a ballot and cast a vote for whomever they wish, regardless of their personal party affiliation. Much like the General Election, you are free to choose who you want.
Many Independents find this system to be geared favorably towards them and typically more moderate politicians fare well in an open primary. Open primaries traditionally have better turnout since more people feel comfortable voting that day since they don’t have to officially declare that they belong to a party.

Wrong.....Ford had multiple negotiations with Congress to try and work out compromises; he could not, Congress overroad his veto !

Ford tired to negotiate; ..but if you have a link of Ford saying 'NO NEGOTIATIONS", please post.

And Carter certainly negotiated; you call it mediation, but that is just a 5-dollar word for negotiations ! But if you have a link of Carter saying "NO NEGOTIATIONS", please post.

How worried are the Republicans? There have been so many RWWs shitting bricks that they can use them to build a wall along the US - Mexico border!

We will see if the Republican establishment backs down; I hope not...if they do they will certainly lose the House in 2014.

I don't think they are that worried; McConnel and Rand were caught off mike today during an interview; they have favorable polling that tells them Obama's NO NEGOTIATIONS attitude isn't playing well.......

I suspect that the Obama White House has similar numbers; that is why he had the meeting late yesterday and he gave the interview with CNBC in which he tried to ramp up pressure on the GOP by downtalking the economy and fear mongering !

It is interesting times if you enjoy the art of politics !
