Now I know what Matthews meant when he talked about getting a"thrill" up his leg every time Obama spoke! With each new poll about Biden, I get that same thrill.
Possible meaning: This saying suggests that if someone does something bad to us, it is better to pay them back later in time, not immediately. Vengeance may be more satisfying if it is not inflicted immediately.
