As a follow up to my previous post where I stated that I do not know if the Rockets will actually win a championship due to the Dwight Howard acquisition. I personally like their chances much better to win it all with Dwight than without him.
Apparently, I am not alone in that assessment!
According to a Las Vegas bookmaker, the Rockets odds to win next years NBA championship increased significantly due to the Howard acquisition. By the same token "the Lakers’ odds plummeted, going down to 40/1."
BTW, who was Dwight Howard playing for, prior to his signing with the Rockets? Wasn't it the Lakers? Hmmm!
From today's Chronicle webpage:
After the
biggest NBA free agent development of the offseason, the oddsmakers at sports betting website Bovada.lv released new odds for the 2014 championship.
The Rockets, Bulls and Clippers have 10/1 odds to win it all, which is better than the defending Western Conference Champion Spurs at 11/1.
The top has familiar faces with the Heat as the favorites to pull of a three-peat with 2/1 odds. The Thunder aren’t far behind with 6/1 odds.
The Lakers’ odds plummeted, going down to 40/1.
