Are you too stupid enough to believe that Obama has a bunch of dead people voting for him?

Yeah, two Harvard Law School grads (who both graduated from one of the five top undergrad programs in the US) don't give a shit about individual achievement despite the fact that they worked their ass off through 19 years of formal schooling to reach one of the pinnacles of American education -- a degree from Harvard Law School. Just a couple of slackers, eh? What a fucking crock of shit.

We work for it. Every step.

I can speak to that a bit. I have a daughter at an Ivy League law school right now. I'm paying her way because we obviously don't qualify for financial aid. She isn't borrowing because it just runs up interest. But many of her fellow students are borrowing money (with some working part time jobs). Yes, you could work more, but it takes many hours to do well in that sort of competitive academic environment. Likewise, with starting salaries for graduates with good grades getting over $160,000/year, taking a few years off to earn enough to pay for $100,000 worth of law school tuition takes a much bigger bite out of your career earnings that you might otherwise imagine. Let's say you take a job our of your undergrad program making $50k and it takes you four years to save $100k. You miss out on $640,000 in earnings. That's a very steep price to pay to work your way through school. Granted not everybody gets, or wants, the top paying jobs. But average salaries through the placement office at her school are over $90,000 and they place almost all grads, despite the dismal job market for lawyers generally. Even at that reduced rate, it's still almost $400k in lost earnings to work your way through school.

Joaquin Castro nursed on the tit of a Hispanic Supremist....their mother was one of the early influences in La Raza Unida - The One Race !
Can you imagine a white big city mayor with family connections like this ?
Only in the Democratic party.

Not saying that it can't be done, but did you do it in four years? What was your major and how competitive was the university? Tough majors and top universities and graduating in four years, if you pay for every penny, you are a very, very industrious person indeed. Right now I'm paying almost $100,000 a year in college tuition for two kids.

And it's a losing issue for Republicans.
Obama is just as sold out to Wall Street as the Republicans are. It would be fun to watch.

Serious question. Why the fuck wouldn't Obama and the Democrats take them up on it? They'd do it in a heartbeat. Secondly, while it is a looser politically for the Republicans, they would NEVER agree. It's the only reason they exist these days -- to give people in my income bracket tax cuts.

I did not get a college degree and what college I have I paid in full by wrking fulltime and going to college at night. I know of a lot of people that worked their way through college and did not take on any debt.
More about the speech. I found if amusing how she constantly shook her head no when she was telling her lies.

Let me get this straight....when Paul Ryan went to school on government money and became a US House member it was a great thing. When Obama and did so and became a the President of the United States, it was a bad thing?
Is that what you silly fuckers are trying to say?
When the two twins from SA did so, it is a bad thing?
WTF is wrong with you Tea Nuts?

If you work and go to an Ivy League part time and forego loans, that may be admirable, but it probably doesn't make economic sense. You'd be better off to take the loan and graduate more quickly since the increase in your wages is so high (see the rough numbers I used in post #50). Nothing wrong with that route in other contexts where it makes sense, however. I asked my daughter tonight when we visited and she knew of no part time students at her law school.
WTF, I can answer that. First, Ryan is white. Second, the went to Georgetown which is a very good, but high second tier, law school. For reasons that I don't understand, but have become personally acquainted with recently, some people, especially high school educated conservatives, just hate Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, and some of the other truly top universities in this country. The hatred is irrational, but it is deep seated and visceral. And it can be quit ugly even when directed at students that are strangers to the person expressing the hatred. it does not extend to highly educated conservatives, as many of them are alumnae of these same institutions. I was actually in a small group of people who briefly discussed this very issue with former Judge, now Dean Ken Starr (Brown and Duke Law) several months ago.
