Can't speak for albundy (or others) but I stick because of my kids; plain and simple. I love them intensely and the very thought of living separate from them makes me nuts; can't and won't do it no matter how dead the sex life is with their mother. So, I don't rock the boat....keep the status quo.

Not to mention (should separation lead to divorce) the notion the SO remarried and my kids being parented by another man.....lord, I can't even begin to express how crazy that makes me. I'd sooner walk through a raging inferno than another man tuck my kids in at night...help them with their homework.....or dismiss / mistreat them simply because they weren't really his.

Seeing a provider is never the same as the "real thing" (everyone has their own interpretation of what that is). But THN is right about the power of a hug. Even for a few seconds, it can make you feel like you're whole again, even if it's just a temporary feeling, at that.
