i reread it again. yeah, its clear as mud. what threw me was your "shame, shame" comment. I didn't see anything that was "shameful" in the preceding shame comment.

I saw WD's avatar. it meant nothing to me. didn't know who he was. I didn't make the connection on part of the later discussion about JH Reagan had to do with WD's avatar.

the thread's title caused me to recall an old political rhetorical question blunder

a rhetorical question blunder is what happens when a someone asks a question that they didn't need an answer to or didn't need to even ask... but did ask and does get an answer anyway. that answer will almost always be contrary to the point they were trying to make

a real life (supposed) example

at a dimocrat political rally, a heckler yells out "i'm a republican" , over and over

the heckler does this while the politician is trying to make his points, interrupting the speaker so much that finally the speaker turns to the heckler to put him in his place

"why sir, are you a republican?" the politician finally asks

"because my daddy was a republican, and his daddy was a republican" comes the reply

"and'," the politician slyly asks, "what would you be if your father was a jack ass?"

and without missing a beat the heckler yells out, "a dimocrat!"

that is a rhetorical question blunder
