I appreciate what you are trying to do.

But you can see the caliber of individuals you are dealing with.

I think I keep it polite with 95% of all posters. But there is at least one half-wit on this board that is deadlocked in naming calling arguments with about 80% of the board. After about 3 posts, he resorts to name-calling and I respond in kind. He long ago gave up any right to be treated like an adult.

ExNYer, I don't always agree with you, but you do make the most effort to be civil on here. You remain civil until provoked, and then you can get in some pretty good shots of your own! I'll bet you're a Yankees fan, too. Am I right?

Nope. Mets, Jets, and Islanders.

Although unlike many in NY, I don't feel hatred for the other NY teams that I do not root for.

The Mets are cool, too. I still remember when Casey Stengel managed them. My Dad grew up in Flatbush, and indoctrinated me in all things New York. Of course, that was before the Mets, and he is still mad about the Giants and Dodgers moving.

Jets, one of my top teams, but I confess with a bag over my head to being a big KC Chiefs fan. That's embarrassing.

I got Casey Stengal to autograph my first baseman's glove when I was twelve. That's back when the Mets were really bad. I saw them play the Astros in 1965, back when the Astrodome had real grass. The Astros were lousy too. Both teams were expansion teams in 1962 and still had a bunch of old players and rookies in 1965.
