If you go by the myopic and biased Republican agenda put out today, but not the real facts....
For the the REAL FACTS you have to go back a little deeper to the source of current problems, Tricky Dick Nixon who opened up commie China and Ronnie Reagan who began the move to Globalism to pleasure American Corporations who wanted to max out profit margins while screwing America and tens of millions of American workers. Globalism is gutting America causing once flourishing States and cities into bankruptcy just as Democrats predicted would happen!
Globalism allows thousands of companies/corporations who used to pay taxes, to move out of the USA and pay no taxes to Uncle Sam as they used to. Tens of millions of workers who lost their jobs now collect extended Unemployment, food stamps and welfare and no longer pay taxes to Uncle Sam as they used to in the recent past.
Both of these REAL FACTS are the reasons for the current fiscal mess, a DIRECT RESULT of Republican economic policy which to tailored to Corporate Caprice rather than bettering the lives of Americans and keeping America a Strong superpower! Corporate America has ALWAYS owned and had Republicans in their back pocket!
It is totally ludicrous to blame Carter and Clinton for what was essentially a Corporate and Republican created economic miscarriage. The USD was STRONG when Carter and Clinton were in office, where we got 50% or more when going to Canada to hobby! Then Dubya came along and the USD lost half its value and is now on par with the CAD!
It will be amusing to see how you spin your way around these COLD HARD REAL FACTS!

Again what is the it you're refering to? Why would I PM you? I'm sure the rest of the board would love to hear your "facts". The senate may have approved bush to use military force by a 75-25 margin. But bush didn't HAVE to use it. Do you think some of those senators voted to give bush the power as a "stick" to go alongside any "carrotts" that were available? How many of them believed the flawed (deceptive?) intellingence provided by the bush administration. Even Colin Powell admits it was BS and regrets his testimony in front of congress. The UN inspectors labeled the US intelligence BS and were proven right. why didn't bush listen to them? When do you think we'll be greeted as liberators and the Iraqis will pay us back with their oil wealth. Do the quotes " Bin lade n determined to strike" and " I hope it wasn't those guys taking flying lessons without learning to land" mean anything to you? It's pretty clear the bush administration was asleep at the wheel, wouldn't you agree?
I still don't know what"it" started during the carter years. The decline of manufacturing hit it's peak in the carter years, but the decline started before then. He did introduce deregulation which killed the airline industry and has been a mixed bag of results ever since. As I recall, clinton left a sizable surplus for bush ($250 billion or so) Remember the days when it looked like we might actually be able to pay off the Debt? Then tax cut and spend like a drunken sailor bush came into office and ruined it all.

I agree with just about everything you say, but you can not place 100% of the blame solely on the GOP. The Dem's have some of the blame as well. No one is innocent here.

I know 2nd graders that can write more coherent sentences than you. Not only can't you write, but your statement is so idiotic that it barely deserves a response. For the record, I think you have to be 35yrs old to run for president and therefore not only is REALLY DUMB, but ill-informed as well.
The economy has done nothing but improve since may of 2009, 4 months after Obama took over. Given the situation he inherited he has done OK. Never forget that Bush was the one who screwed things up so bad. As I recall, pres, candidate McCain was campaigning saying " The fundamentals of the Economy are fine",3 weeks before the near collapse of the world economy, Out of touch much?

Ha! I laugh at ur insults, do think I care if I can't type with my thumbs, this social media, its meant to be short and sweet,
By the way, I have oodles of college, can do calculus in my head, solved rubiks cube 20 years before the yahoo tube vid ever came out
Really comes down to, I don't like seeing rights taken, and the erosion of the middle class. Obama is in the closet communist. The economy is not better for the middle class. It is better for welfare reciepients and the elite. The socialist dream. Lenin would be proud of obama.
It does not matter I type, I am right. LOL

The socialists wanted better than this. That which perverted socialism to communism is the same as that which perverts the United States today: entitlement and corruption.
What we practice in this nation is far from capitalism.
All this democrat vs. republic crap is for the sheep, guys. Elevate your thinking above it.

OK, you got me, that was impulsive, over the top rhetoric. I withdrawal the statement. There is really very little in common between the two, my apologies.

I asked for VERIFIABLE FACTS!!! NOT your opinionated rant. The world I live in saw the 2007 - 2008 financial meltdown (I.E. the banking industry collapse, the housing mkt. collapse, the investment firms imploding and the American auto industry finally getting what it had been asking for over the last 30 yrs.) due to the following :
Attachment 209564
All you need do is run a search on the internet (What Caused The 2008 Financial Crises) Nowhere did I find any mention of Nixon or Reagan. For the most part it was SUB-PRIME LENDING. And Dubya threw up red flags way more than once only to have good ole Barney Frank assure everyone that all was well with Fannie and Freddie. Yeah, right.
And BTW, I'm NOT a Republican!!! Just believe in giving credit where credit is due. So, if you can supply me with some reliable links that can back up your claims, bring em on. I'll be happy to supply you with ones to back up mine. But get ready to do some heavy reading cause there's a lot of them.
