Porter Wagoner at a small venue in Springfield Mo. He introduced his new singing partner Dolly Parton. How old am I?....My first puppy was a Stegosaurus.

Brooks and Dunn at the Oil Palace in Tyler, Texas when they first got started. My next concert was a few years later in Colorado Strings, Colorado. A girl dragged me to a Cypress Hill concert. Had a blast.

First concert was a Styx concert - I forget the year but it was when they were at their peak, so probably mid-late 70s. I had gotten hooked on their music because my high school girlfriend liked it and a couple of songs like 'Sweet Madame Blue' were long enough to allow for serious progress with her in a dark corner. However, the concert was so bad and the band looked so gay that I went home and trashed the records.

Next concert was Yes 'In the Round'. Awesome show. Funny thing is, I made my friend drive home because I'd been drinking... never mind that he'd been indulging in forbidden topics that were appropriate for a Yes concert. I still remember him turning to me as we were driving home along the freeway and saying, with a straight look on his face, "You realize that I've never piloted an automobile through a worm hole before."

Best concert ever was Iggy Pop in a converted theater in Detroit around 1979. He was just beginning to claw his way out of hell and the energy and violence in the place was unbelievable.

Musically, U2 (Dallas) and Elton John (Atlanta) have been the best experiences.

1966. The Who, Blues Magoos, and Herman's Hermits (the headliners) in Houston. The Who was the opening act back then. It blew me away that they destroyed almost all of their equipment. Saw them again in a small venue in Denver in 1970.

First Concert - Chicago 1972 - Nacogdoches of all places.

Most memorable - 1975 - Rush at the Electric Ballroom in Dallas. My friend and I were standing at the stage, with a picture of beer between us, and Getty Lee's mic stand less than 5 feet in front of us. that was back when you could take a 35mm camera with you and they would pose for the camera while they played. ....got some good pics that night.

The Stones, ZZ Top, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds at the Cotton Bowl. I forgot the year, but it was raining like hell and the floor of the bowl was better stocked than the local Walgreen's pharmacy. Only Keith Richards could enjoy playing an electric guitar in a torrential downpour.

Fall 1981. I've seen every Stones show in Texas since the late 70's.
