The poll cited in the article was an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, the same source used in the article cited by Eccielover. If you discount the one you should discount the other.
I don't put much faith in polls trying to predict the outcome of an election 20 months in the future but this is a forum discussing politics and this is politics.

Without seeing actual polling results by state it is impossible to come to any conclusions what each state's results were. Ohio and Indiana were strong Trump supporters in 2016 election and the other 3 were borderline Trump supporters.

The media leaps around covering and over-analyzing the stupid quotes and tweets every day, just like he issues them every day. Over and over and over and over... My point is that we don't spend any time thinking about real issues anymore. It's all childish drama and petty baloney and the weirded out hyperbole of a ego-maniac who happens to be our president. We're all being reduced to bickering and drowning in attention deficit syndrome. I get the feeling that that's just what our president wants.

Well, you may have correctly diagnosed our collective illness (ADD), but you mistakenly seem to think the affliction was brought on by trumpy and is of recent vintage. Go back to 1980. Reagan was elected and CNN was launched. The 24-hour news cycle was birthed. Since then, the media has become increasingly fickle, childish, undisciplined, and biased. So-called journalists stopped keeping a wall between facts and opinion and started chasing after ratings at all costs. It's been a long, downhill journey ever since. The advent of social media accelerated the negative trends. Trumpy didn't create this clusterfuck, he just figured out how to make it work for him. You need to look deeper, and elsewhere, to assign blame.

The problem with the left is they're trying to race each other as far as they can to the extreme left...that isn't a winnable strategy nation wide...never has...on the other hand President Reagan's rock solid conservative ideology won him the largest landslide in history!!
This Russian conspiracy with Trump that is going to turnout to be a BIG nothing burger with Muleheads release of the two year investigation won't help the lefts rabid tunnel vision on the guaranteed guilt of Trump.

I agree with you, Lusty. Our national attention deficit syndrome started long before Donald Trump was elected president. I don't like what's happening. We need to reverse the trend, not accept it. That includes acknowledging how our president preys on our culture's weaknesses, which is what you have done. We must demand more from the media, especially TV media. Also, Facebook and special interest websites are not places to get reliable information. Journalism remains a vital aspect of our Democracy, and there are some careful, solid journalists out there. A nation suffering from tribal myopia and attention deficient syndrome is going to struggle to figure this out. For an example of good journalism, read Harper's new cover story about Joe Biden's legislative track record. Biden supporters won't be pleased.

Not true at all. You have people like AOC on the extreme left. People like O'Rourke to the right of her. And Biden near the middle. Political beliefs in both the Democratic and Republican parties are a continuum, not just a single point. Not all Republicans are Tea Partiers.
Remember the goal of the Russia investigation -- to look into Russian involvement in the 2016 election and how to keep it from happening in the future. Russia did try to influence the election. Then the question as to whether or not people in this country were involved. I never thought Trump was involved. I think some Trump supporters had minor involvement but in no way broke the law. Like you said, it will be a BIG nothing burger.

Not gonna happen.
They only see themselves as politicians in name. Ask 'em, they'll tell you. In their world they're really political activists posing as elected officials. Not representing the needs of their constituents but they're own self serving ideologies.....
