dealing with facts, and addressing the issues with those facts, rather than spewing partisan tripe has always been one of my faults

nwarounder, war has always been a very profitable endeavor, unless you loose.
Well, I take that back. If you loose a war to the USA, it's like a bargin day at the mint.

Of course they were. The feds are constantly counting how many minorities get mortgages. The big banks have to stay in the good graces of the federal govnernment or they cant do business. The government pressured the lenders to loan based on meeting racial quotas instead of traditional underwriting guidelnes. The Community Reinvestment Act forced lenders to make bad loans. There were also Acorn Loans made by major banks; they actually called them that. The subprime problem was mostly driven by the government. FNMA and FHLMC were agressively buying all the bad loans they could get; they encouraged lenders to relax underwriting guidelines. The government participated in creating the bubble and now everyone wants to put all the blame on the private sector.

Ohhh definitely! Honestly I'm in a quandry over which I feel best about : Making money off of bombing Arabs, or making money off the backs of the young and middle class Americans with Obamacare. Still internally debating this one...

CJ7,
I am at my office working to try to keep some people employed, we block youtube so I will not be able to view that until I get home tonight.
I am shocked that you would infer that 5.5 million minorities are some how the cause of the financial collapse. I know many minorities and I do not view them arbitrarily as credit risks. Do you believe that minorities are credit risks and some how lesser people than non minorities? was this an issue of our own government controlled agency red-lining and Bush was trying to stop the practice?
This is shocking!

Not sure if I will or not.
I find that welearn from history but have to look forwqard to not repeat some of the same mistakes that were made in the past.
We can all find fault in each and every administration but the fact remains that we should take a hard look at the road we are on. We cannot tax and spend our way out of this economy. We cannot spend and tax our way out of this economy. The fact is it will get much worse before it gets better. The choice is do we want it to get worse by stopping the out of hand government spending or continue to spend until the government collapses.
Have we learned that we can no longer afford to wage war without having the treasure to do so. Have we learned that we cannot borrow to pay for things that are not required by the constitution. Have we learned that government has gotten so big that we cannot afford to feed it? haqve we learned that we have written checks that we may not be able to cash. Have we learned that the cost of our socilism has become the largest part of our expenditures. Have we learned that to pit one race against the other does nothing to ehlp this country move forward. have we learned that we all have the same opportunity to achieve and that it is up to the individual to seize the opportunity that is afforded them. Have we learned that government is more often than not the problem rather than the solution.
I am not sure about you but for me I do not need the government making my life decisions for me. Social engineering by the government has never worked and never will.
I can remember whn I started working at a job and got paid the minimum wage. I quickly figured out how to make myself much more valuable to my employer but instead of asking for a hogher wage I asked for a piece of the action. Sometimes you have to make your own opportunites.

The failure to understand the issue is not surprising.
The issue is not the amount.
The issue is that the government is ditating what has to be paid rather than allowing the market to decide.
I pertsonally think that 7.25 is a very low wage and would not be able to hire anyone for that amount and expect a reasonable amount of work. We generally start people out at 10 bucks for a start and that only requires them to have a good driving record, a clean drug test, and a valid drivers licensee. Oh and they are required to be legal either a citizen or have a valid green card. Most of our employees have the opportunity to make close to 30 bucks an hour after about four years of training and can make more if they are willing to do more. We also provide health insurance with full family coverage at no cost to the employee, profit sharing, pension, and a 401k plan.
Once again the issue is with the government being involved in something that is not the business of the government and has no basis in the constitution for it. This is just another example of the government that is out of control.

If I am not mistaken "the government that is out of control" has been practicing minimum wage laws for quite some time. The law was first put into place during The Great Depression and seems to have withstood the "test of time."
I suspect The2Dogs was The1YoungPuppy way back then!

No shit! Look at Japan and Germany.
All Iraq had to do was look at those two countries and open up their spickets!
