I presume you recall the early hysteria by the LameStreamMedia regarding Trump "starting" a nuclear war. Now the "dialogue" rant seems to be it was a "waste of time" to attempt to avoid it. The mutually exclusive criticism is transparent.

It has always been my theory that many decision makers in foreign countries during Reagan's early years saw him as the role he often played and B Western movies ... a "gunslinger" ... and concluded that was his real personality .... a "gunfighter" .... as a consequence, when coupled with the opposition's constant rant about him being "unstable" and "shooting from the hip" .... they concluded he would not hesitate to pull the trigger. He did pull the trigger: See Libya! Even when Spain thwarted his efforts.
They responded accordingly.
For those who know NOTHING about serious negotiations on serious matters they will criticize the tactic of getting up from the table and walking away when the one getting up is in a position of strength. Again, if Rocket Boy has any sense (which has been debatable) he was probably privately mulling over whether to return home on the train or not.
