I love little theories like this! So, you are suggesting that the government planned a massacre of 20 innocent children as a way to Justify taking away our Second amendment?
Assault Rifles were made for war. Unless you are a solider fighting for your life and country, then why in the hell would you be carrying around such a deadly weapon?
You must have a pretty bad aim if you can not defend your life, home, and country with a shotgun or pistol. Who in the hell needs an assault rifle? It just takes one bullet to put a person down. Maybe some people like their enemy to look like swiss cheese? I don't know!
Now I can understand having an assault weapon if you are a GUN COLLECTOR and you keep your guns well-kept in a very secure safe! That's reasonable.
But even still, I don't think Assault rifles need to be banned. Criminals will always have access to them on the streets. But I do think there needs to be an extra step to obtain one. Maybe even lessons, training, and additional licences to legally obtain an assault rifle.
One of the additional steps needs to be a THOROUGH mental health exam.
Remember,...our forefathers protected America with these....LOL

Now, there's an interesting analogy.....Obama making a statement about his intentions regarding gun control and....the holocaust.
Do you realize how insane you are?

Simple. It will limit certain high capacity magazines. What would this woman done if there were several intruders?

.
A point of order: It has NEVER been legal to own an assault rifle in the United States without a Class III Federal Firearms license, that has been the case since the assault rifle was invented in 1944.

I dunno....aim more carefully? What I asked was how the current proposal would effect the weapon she had? I'm unaware of any high-capacity magazines for .38. She had the weapon she had. And, the weapon she had took care of the problem. You can "What-if" it until the cows come home and create a scenario in your mind where a 30 round magazine might be helpful. What if there were a dozen assailants? Does that mean we need to allow everybody to purchase fully automatic weapons and claymores to defend their homes? Is it your contention that she was going to rush out in the middle of this home break-in and purchase a Glock?
Additionally, high capacity magazines have nothing to do with the ability of the shooter to hit her target. I can dig up a half-dozen new stories that show the cops with the Glocks firing dozens of shots at an assailant and getting a couple of hits.
The reality is that if there had been more than one intruder, the rest almost certainly would have been running for their lives after she dropped the first one.

I get what your saying.....but, the fact is that almost all true assault rifles have the capability of select fire. You can switch to semi anytime you like. It's still an assault rifle.

You're an idiot. She hit him 5 times. I guess using your logic we should limit the guns to 2 bullets because once you fire everybody will run away.

You're pretty fucking stupid as well. I never said her revolver would have a 30 round magazine but this fucked up administration is trying to limit them to 10 round mags. I have multiple guns that hold more than 10.

Obama's plan PROPOSES reinstating the ban on assault weapons, running background checks on all weapon sales and limiting mag sizes to 10 rounds.
He also signed 23 executive orders that will address sharing of background check information from state to state, gun ownership by mentally disturbed people, increased mental health care services and limiting a convicted criminal's access to guns.
Pretty reasonable, most of them, imho.
LET THE WHINING BEGIN!
