Rockets looked pretty good last night. It was good to see Dwight Howard do well in the paint. All they need to do is take one in Dallas and this will be done in 5.

Rondo's coach has been micro managing the hell out of him. What a lackluster performance last night. He can't even get into the game because he has to keep looking at his coach for plays. Goshdarnit just let the man do his thing already!

smh.. things like this make/break a championship team.

https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2...ClI/story.html

"According to NBA sources, Rondo soured on Carlisle quickly, frustrated by the coach’s insistence on calling plays. Rondo viewed that as a lack of trust. If anything, Rondo felt he deserved more control of the offense and on-court decision-making."

As an aside: I have a big mouth, I know, but I'm tossing my bet in early.

I'm going for San Antonio in the finals for the Western Conference (of course).

East
If Chicago beats Cleveland, I go for Atlanta in the finals.

Hopefully everybody I based my stats on that I need to stay healthy, does.

Here's the deal.....Jason Kidd figured out how to work with Rick Carlisle and his stringent coaching style during his second stint in Dallas. Does Rick micro-manage? Yeah, that's a given. It's a style that has worked for him and the teams he's coached for years and that's how he rolls. There are only 30 head coaches in the NBA and, bottom line, Rondo had to know that going in. If he didn't; shame on him.

Kidd and Carlisle argued bcd about how things should be run ALL the time but he never, never ever took that attitude out onto court....nor did he QUIT on Cuban, Donnie, Carlisle, and most of all....his team mates. And because of his willingness to put his massive ego on the shelf....be the coach-on-the-court (and play second banana to Dirk, who was unstoppable during the playoffs)....Kidd was the steadying hand that was needed on that 2011 Championship.

Flash forward:

Rondo wanted off the court Game Two because in his heart he knew he was / is a shell of the player he once was and he was getting embarrassed on national TV. Harden was eating him alive. Rondo literally fell on his ass twice just trying to defend (him)....and he wanted nothing to do with it anymore. He wanted out. Injured back, my ass!

The trade with Boston (1/3 the way into the 2014-15 season), while a respectable attempt (to shore up the Mavs defense) was a failure the moment it happened (and Rondo knew it). The NBA's best scoring team immediately bogged down to a snail's pace once he was inserted into the line up.....and he couldn't do anything about it because of his diminished skills. He knew from day one he was a bad fit on this Mavs team and was basically biding time & waiting for this contract to run out.

Rondo will get signed by someone going into next season.....but ya gotta ask yourself WHO needs / wants a point guard who can't shoot from the field....can't shoot free thrws.....and now has incriminating tape that he threw in the towel, quit on his team....during the playoffs???

Something tells me that this year San Antonio ain't gonna make it.

Them damn Golden State Warriors just came back from a 20-point deficit with 4 minutes left in the game to beat New Orleans in OT to a 3-0 lead and will probably sweep them out. Nobody has an answer for Steph Curry, and I don't see San Antonio beating them in a series if they play each other.

I haven't seen Atlanta play, but Cleveland is looking damn good right now. Chicago won't be able to hang if they play Cleveland. They'll probably wind up in the Finals.

Well, they'd actually cut into that lead and made it an 8-point deficit with 3 min's and change remaining.....not even the Knicks could lose a 20 pt lead with 240 seconds left on the clock.

In the sports world, there are very few things that I enjoy more than Houston beating Dallas.

Up 3 games to none!

Let's get the broom out!

Too many easy lay ups missed and too many offensive rebounds given up the last couple of games. Three point shooting was off too. Aminu gave Harden fits last night. Hopefully it was just the team looking past this round although that's a problem in itself.

I'm not sure who I'd rather see next round.

I don't think the Rockets have an answer for Chris Paul or Blake Griffin but they don't have a bench.

Tony Parker looks tired. Tim Duncan is still Tim Duncan just a little older and wiser and Pop uses his bench well to keep him fresh.

If the Rockets play the way they did the last two games of this series they'll get hammered.
