Romney lost. He agreed with almost every policy of the President. He was weak and he might as well not have been there. He flip flopped like a fish, ran to the center like he was running away from a fire and he got schooled by the President.

Obama owned his ass. Even the right wing commentators were unhappy with Romney's performance tonight.

I have never in my life and I have been following debates since Reagan- Carter ever seen one candidate agree with another candidate so much- Romney by agreeing so much just made the undecided voters agree that Obama is handling the Foreign Policy very well.

I agree. The differences on foreign policy were trivial. It puts the election squarely on domestic economic issues which is where Obama is weak. Romney did not hurt himself. Obama did not have a chance to help himself.

Obama did nothing to reverse the momentum of Romney.

Romney won.

I have no idea what Romney was thinking. He let Obama walk all over him. I think he was playing a "prevent defense", trying to protect his lead. He doesn't have a lead. He needed a win, and he was offered it, but he tossed it way.

The President did look rude, boorish and condescending, but Romney did not respond with any life.

Looks like one of my predictions may come true. Obama will be re-elected.

Odumbo lied again!!! Each soldier and Marine is still issued a bayonet! And there are more soldiers and Marines today than there were on June 1, 1916, and horses were "replaced" by trucks -- and Odumbo is an enormous ignoramus if he hasn't noticed the U.S. military has a substantially larger inventory of trucks today than it did horses in 1916.

I think Romney has made the calculation he has presented himself as a plausible alternative. That's ok here we come 2016 who will the Republicans put as their nominee

I agree 100% TheDaliLama, Romney only had to keep President Obama from hitting a home run....he was able to keep things in check. President Obama looked mad, tired, and I believe he knew without a homerun to turn Gov. Romney's momentum around his re-election hopes would go down the drain.

COG- my God I agree with you- many pundits from both side are saying that if Obama had "showed" up on the 1st debate that this would be a blow out win for Obama- I don't think Mitt will hold on to his momentum- I promise you this election is so reminding me of 2004.

I disagree. I think he played it smart. Neither candidate agrees with you and they are more alike than different. Romney presented well and did not commit any errors. He also spent time focusing on Obama's major weakness - the domestic economy. No reason for the current trend to stop or reverse. Obama is in trouble.

Romney lost. Plain and simple. The President gave Romney every opportunity to show how dismal Obama's foreign policy is, and Romney let it slide. If Romney's objective was to keep the ball in the park, he did that. But the President managed to hit a hell of a lot of doubles and triples. To continue the metaphor, Romney left a whole lot of men on base. It was awful.

Romney was much more respectful, but that doesn't win elections. He's not far enough ahead to play to "not lose". He still needs to play to win. He didn't do that.

It remains, Odumbo's comment on bayonets was a lie, and Odumbo failed to acknowledge horses were replaced by an even greater number of vehicles.
