The DOJ's response to the special master request is compelling.

Why were those marked documents in the desk in his office? Why were they still in his possession after the Jun 3rd? How were his and his people's attempts to locate the additional documents so woefully inadequate?

Those dots are starting to connect themselves and it's looking bad for El Trumperino.

Amateur Hour at the corrupt FBI/DOJ continues. The DOJ took documents, which they claim are supposed to be super sensitive, out of container, scattered them all over the floor, took a picture of them, and released the picture for the world to see to try and embarrass Trump.

Man this just gets worse and worse for the corrupt DOJ/FBI

Any moron with a brain could realize this was a photo of for the fbi. Oh jeez, Trump just happen to have all of these simply spread out on the floor making sure the ones marked top secret were there to be photographed

Give me a fucking break

Tom Fitton - Judicial Watch - I've reviewed Biden DOJ's latest propaganda filing opposing a special master. The breathtakingly dishonest filing further confirms the whole basis for the abusive raid on Trump's home is a sham.

Yeah Chizzy - Trump’s presidential records were so sensitive and in need of protection that FBI agents seized them, dumped them all over the floor, and took staged propaganda pictures of them so Libtard Media could post pics of them on Twitter.

Merrick Garland is as incompetent as he is corrupt.

But my favorite part is the FBI seizure of Time magazine covers. Those magazine covers are a threat to National Security. Definitely can’t have those falling into the wrong hands!

Gee, I’ve never heard that one before.

You’ve gotta be utterly brain dead to not know what these guys were searching for.

Clearly it was Milania's panties. Isn't it obvious?

LOL Spot on Jacuzzme. Ahh the delusional hopes and dreams of libtards. I don't know about you, but I would take the legal opinion of a well respected non partisan constitutional lawyer like Jonathon Turley over some crazy lib shitposting on here

Jonathon Turley excerpts - The arguments raised by the Justice Department are not just familiar but transparently weak. The government argues that Trump lacks standing because the records belong to the United States, not him. However, that is the point. The court is trying to determine who has a right to these documents. The Justice Department itself recognizes that it may have gathered some attorney-client privileged documents in this ridiculously broad search. . . .

Moreover, the court itself has ample authority to appoint a special master to help sort through such material.

The Justice Department also makes the same type of arguments used to oppose the release of a single line of the affidavit in redacted form. It claims that both its investigation and national security would be harmed. That is even less compelling here. A special master would be reviewing documents in a secure facility and would presumably have a clearance. Many of us who have handled national security cases have been cleared for TS/SCI material.

The use of such arguments after the release of the redacted affidavit only undermines the arguments further. The Justice Department insisted that the court should not release a single line of the affidavit and that any substantive disclosure would unleash a parade of horribles, from damaging national security to sacrificing witnesses.

For those of us who have litigated cases against the Justice Department, it was an all-too-familiar claim by a department notorious for over-classification and over-redaction arguments. For a week, media pundits mouthed the same exaggerated claims and challenged those of us who argued that it was clearly possible to release a redacted affidavit; liberals suddenly shuddered at the thought of doubting the Justice Department.

The Department also claims that it does not need to return personal material to the former president because the evidence of “commingling personal effects with documents bearing classification markings is relevant evidence of the statutory offenses under investigation.” That is again transparency weak.

The Department also makes other incomplete or dubious arguments.

The court should reject the arguments against the appointment of a special master and allow for an independent review of these documents.

We should take anyone's claims or predictions with a grain of salt. Especially those of anyone posting this thread, including yours.

Keep on being you. Love your moxie.

Back on topic... can you refute that Trump's passports were found in his office in the same drawer as marked documents?

Or that the documents seized were co-mingled with marked documents or stored with, alongside or in the same room?

Don't fall back into the declassified crap. This is a simple yes/no.

More Jonathon Turley exposing the corrupt DOJ

Much of the government's claims of the need for absolute secrecy (in opposing the redacted affidavit and now the special counsel) is conflicted and untenable. One footnote reference in the latest filing is an example. The Justice Department states “the government is prepared, given the extraordinary circumstances, to unseal the more detailed receipt and provide it immediately to plaintiff.” That sounds like (as with the redacted affidavit) that they clearly can release more information. What constitutes "extraordinary circumstances" is unclear other than a way to avoid the appointment of a Special Master. The Special Master is needed in part to do an independent review on the classification and categorization of withheld information. Again this follows the release of a redacted affidavit with important confirmation of key facts that the Justice Department declared could not occur without endangering national security and harming the investigation--claims that were clearly misleading.
