Also I rarely give money anymore. Bottles of water, and food on the other hand I will. Sometimes I give them rides to the shelters I know about. I have mixed feelings about them. So many are just lazy lying shits.

Buuuttttt now that the firemen are out with the boot, I give every time! If a kid is selling candy for his "team", I donate the cost of the candy. If someone asks me for a money at my local 7 11, I will give it to them ONCE. But if someone asks me for food, I will give it to them each and every time.

But a professional panhandler wont get a dime from me.

That's damn near crossing the line, borderline criminal, even. I don't mind helping MF'ers, but when you're so intrusive to bother me while I'm trying to eat or 'ambush' me coming out of a store, I'm inclined to want to whoop your broke ass.

As another poster mentioned, the less daylight there is (i.e. early morning or late at night), the more my defenses are up and less likely of me wanting to help. Too risky.

You'd think they'd have some sense of how creepy they could be at times.

I was cursed out by a young man that asked for money to buy food as I was leaving the grocery store...I told him I didn't have money left but he could have some of the canned groceries in my bag.
I no longer give money except on very rare occaisions.
