If I thought there was any chance of the epic matchup between Ruby the Dyke vs Captain Pissgums being mentioned in this worthless thread I'd read it. What're the odds? Probably nothing about The Checkered Demon in here either.

If I don't forget I'll check back in a few days, see if somebody proved me wrong...saves effort that way.

Oh, I don't know if anyone else saw, but the Video Games Live concert series is coming to Houston on July 5th.

I've been to one of these before years ago in Indy and it was pretty fun - I'm curious to see how things have changed since then (I'll probably recognize less of the songs since I play less video games these days).

I've seen them in concert thrice, and it is pretty fun. I didn't recognize every song, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment. I love orchestral music, though.

These days, I tend to listen to more orchestral movie scores or video game / anime covers than I do the classics.

Some of these covers though do make me want to start playing some of my instruments again though - maybe even pick up a couple new ones.

What instruments do you play?

On a side note, if you like instrumental covers, you might like Vitamin String Quartet or 2Cellos... There are some hot twin harpists who do excellent covers of geeky things, too... Let me see if I can dig them up...

My favorite alien:

Survival never looked so good:

Vitamin String Quartet sounds pretty neat - I may surf their YouTube channel a little more if I get time this afternoon.

The dueling cellos cover of Smooth Criminal by 2Cellos is pretty epic. I remember seeing it awhile back and thought it was very cool.

Of course, 2Cellos also reminds me of Apocalyptica:

Ok yeah, I've seen those twins before doing a cover of the Game of Thrones opening!

You're asking about harps I assume?

I don't know too much about them or their costs myself, but if there's a local H&H store, they could probably point you in the right direction.

This is probably a white mans fantasy but next life I'm returning as an electric harp between Camille's or Kennerly's legs

So anyone have any guesses on how bad WWZ is going to be? I'm thinking less than 50% on Rotten Tomatoes.

A coworker of mine pointed this out: Given the trend of doing documentary style movies, now that Hollywood finally got some material to do one... they turn around and make it a generic action flick.

Sadly, I'll probably end up seeing it anyways.
