I have to wonder if Rick Smiths bad picks are because Kubs had final say. Did Rick give him 3-4 options or suggestion per round and Kubs picked the worst. The picks under BoB were a lot better. I don't think they expects NE to take JimmyG

3-13, 2-14 or 1-15 would be better than being in the middle of the pack. If we're not going to make the playoffs (we won't) it will be better to tank and get a high draft pick. The QB class coming out next year is one of the best and deepest in quite a while. By the end of the year, the College Coach will have realized he can't do anything with Fitz, Case or Savage and will be looking to get a good QB.
BL, only time will tell, but I'm not convinced the College Coach had a good draft. The ultimate decision is McNair and Rick Smith's anyway. Clowney need to be very disruptive and get a high number of sacks for this to pay off. I don't see it.

No doubt, 2-14 > 8-8.
One year of sucking will be worth it to get a franchise QB. Just ask Indy 3 years ago.

This years picks by Rick Smith with Bill O'Brian (BOB) show better decisions than under Kubiak. The only real failing was not to trade up from the first pick in the third round into the middle of the second and take Jimmy G. The tight end they took is totally useless, we did not need another one. The rest of the players at this point appear to be solid. Did Rick Smith get smarter or did BOB do a better job of deciding who to go with among Rick's suggestions.

Big Louie, all of that Appears to be true but you cannot know about a draft until later. In most cases you need three years to evaluate a draft. In the case of last years draft we can evaluate it already because only two guys are still on the fucking team.
