Mine was America Crude.

Yours is Nightmare on Elm Street--the original 1984 movie.

LETHAL WEAPON II?

You think I can hit that guy from here?
Give it a rest, Sal. You couldn't hit the ground even if you fell on it

AUSTIN POWERS. THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME.

What's a dazzling urbanite like you doing in a rustic setting like this?

At 1.77 MHz with 4 KB of RAM we tended to get bored while waiting for messages to go back and forth on the posts and threads, so out of sheer boredom we would entertain ourselves exchanging movie quote challenges while waiting for the processing. When we upgraded to the blazing speed of Commodore 64s, we had less time to exchange challenges in the lab, and started to make it a regular part of the BBS and the rest is history. One of the guys I worked with went on to join the design team that merged America Online with some other growing board and I think MQT was one of the first threads they used in the test version. Now it has become a patented board game, and just about every electronic community board has it own version.

I know there are a few regional games going, mostly on the Texas boards already, but I thought since we are trying to make the "E" a national giant, i might take a crack at putting a versio of the game here the main thread.

It is a pretty fun game with very easy rules.

1) Put your answer (movie title) in CAPs
2) Put your next quote in bold
3) If someone does not guess your quote within a few hours, come back and add a character, cast, or plot hint.
4) If someone makes a mistake and guesses your quote incorrectly, try to be gracious and feel free to point out the mistake, but keep in mind the thread may have moved on and you will need to guess the current pending quote before taking another turn.
5) Using the QUOTE BOX is helpful if the thread becomes tangled with discussions or multiple pending quotes. You can also use the EDIT function if you catch a redundant answer. Given how awesomely fast this board is, you may need to fix your response. It is is considered rude to jump a quote with one of your own--GET ONE TO GIVE ONE.

I will get us started with a classic from the same year I first played this game:

Wyatt: "Do you think Lisa's having a good time?"
Garry: "Lisa could have a good time at an insurance seminar, Wyatt."
Perhaps an additional rule would be in order. No Google. Since the days of my blazing Commodore 64, search engines have rendered this game a little too easy. Virtually all of the movie lines so far have popped up on one "movie quotes" website or another. (I have not read this whole thread, so forgive me if someone has already pointed this out.)

We sorta trust each other to do it from memory first rather than Google or IMDB until it is obvious folks are stumped and the thread goes dormant for a few hours--especially f the current OP doesn't offer a hint.
